Wright was recalled by the Islanders on Monday.

Wright received the call-up due to Ryan Pulock's move to the IR with an upper-body injury. Considering that Wright hasn't been on NHL ice in over two seasons, it would be very surprising if he was activated for any portion of New York's ongoing playoff campaign.

Wright signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Islanders on Thursday. Wright skated in the KHL last season, posting 19 points in 53 games for Zagreb Medvescak. He's previously appeared in 146 NHL games with the Jets and Lightning, but the Islanders seem to be viewing him strictly as a depth option for their AHL squad.

James Wright sustained a sprained ankle on Saturday. Coach Paul Maurice said Monday that Wright will be sidelined indefinitely. He has two assists in 59 games this season.

James Wright suffered an apparent leg/knee injury in Saturday's game against Nashville. He was evaluated on Sunday so a full determination on his status hasn't been made yet. The Jets host the New York Islanders on Tuesday and right now he's listed as "doubtful" to play.

James Wright returned to action on Friday December 20.

James Wright was a late scratch Tuesday due to the flu. This is just a FYI as Wright has no fantasy value in standard leagues. He has an assist in 35 games this season.

James Wright has been skating with Mark Scheifele at training camp recently. "I want to contribute to this team where they see fit," Wright said. "But I see myself as trying to push to be in the top nine forwards. I have to be responsible defensively, that's kind of been my forte, but to add that extra spark offensively is going to be a good help to the team." He would help out Scheifele with his defensive responsibilities, but hopefully the Jets prospect gets to play on a scoring line once the season starts.

James Wright was activated from the IL on Saturday April 6.

James Wright will make his season debut against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday in place of Kyle Wellwood. Winnipeg is winless through two games and coach Claude Noel said he wanted to try to find a way to get his top forwards going. The Jets claimed Wright off waivers last week. He had 17 points and 31 PIM in 40 AHL contests. "It's not a (criticism) of Wellwood. I thought Kyle was good in both games," Noel said. "It's just you play heavy games and he looked tired and looked a little slower."

The Winnipeg Jets have claimed James Wright off of waivers. Wright has 17 points and 31 penalty minutes in 40 AHL games this season. Wright is on a two-way deal this season, but it will become a one-way contract in 2013-14.
