Voracek recorded his first point of the season -- an assist -- in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the visiting Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
The stars have been quiet in Philly thus far, but with Voracek's first point and Claude Giroux's first goal under their belts after this one, owners are hoping the offense starts to roll in more consistently. Unfortunately, the Flyers don't play again until Oct. 20, so Voracek and Co. will have to wait nearly a week to build any momentum from their victory against Chicago.

Voracek has been unable to score any points through his first two games of the season.
EDGE Analysis
Voracek had the highest scoring season of his career with 81 points in 2014-15, which resulted in an eight-year, $66 million contract extension during the offseason. The left wing has been ineffective this year, unable to convert any of his 12 shot attempts through the first three games. Voracek will try to recapture last season's form as Philadelphia faces Chicago at home Wednesday.

Philadelphia Flyers right wing Jakub Voracek signed an eight-year, $66 million contract extension Thursday, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. Voracek set career-highs with 59 assists and a team-leading 81 points last season. He was due to make roughly $4.3 million in the final season of his contract, but will now become one of the highest-paid players in the league. The 25-year-old has played every game over the last two seasons and has become a fixture on the team's top line in addition to a key member of the power-play unit. Voracek forms a very productive tandem with linemate Claude Giroux, who totaled 73 points last season and signed an eight-year extension of his own in 2013. The Flyers are coming off a disappointing 2014-15 season in which they reached just 84 points and finished 12th in the Eastern Conference standings.

With a pair of first-period assists Tuesday against the Islanders, Voracek surpassed the 80-point mark for the first time in his career. What a season it's been for Voracek; too bad the rest of the Flyers haven't been able to play up to his level. He's been hot all year, so it's no surprise that he's on an excellent streak right now, with a dozen points over his last eight games.

Voracek tallied a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Penguins. Voracek has been picking up assists almost at will both of late and on the season, but the goal was just his first in eight games dating back to March 15. The 57th assist moves him into a tie for first in the league with Nicklas Backstrom, and he now sits just two points back of Sidney Crosby's 81 for the league lead in that category as well.

Voracek's collected his league-leading 56th assist of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Penguins. He's got five games left to reclaim the lead in points. The Flyers are out of playoff contention, so owners should be monitoring his status on a daily basis. Coach Craig Berube may want to save his offensive stars for next season.

Voracek picked up two assists in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Sharks. His current point streak now stands at four games and seven assists. He is one of a handful of players who may actually crest the 80-point mark this year. Yep, scoring is down, so guys like Voracek are even more valuable than before. His 55 helpers now lead the NHL. You know what to do.

Voracek racked up three assists in Saturday's loss to the Oilers. That's six points in five games for Voracek, who is up to 73 points in 74 games on the season. He's second among all players with 52 assists and is just one point back of Sidney Crosby in the NHL scoring race. His consistent point production makes him a must-start every game.

Voracek assisted on the Flyers' lone goal in Thursday's 4-1 loss to Calgary. Voracek skated through defenders and then slid the puck to Claude Giroux for a wide open net. He's an undeniable assist-machine this season, but with his team scoring one goal or fewer in five of its last six games, it's getting harder for him to lend a proverbial hand.

Voracek scored a goal in Sunday's shootout loss to Ottawa. His production has trailed off a bit in the waning games of the season -- he's now tied for 5th overall in points. The Flyers' have three away games this week, and Voracek has performed solidly on the road. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
