Holy playmaking. Voracek is heating up at just the right time. Since Jan. 8, he has been held of the scoresheet just twice in 10 games, recording 13 points (one goal, 12 helpers). The window to get him at a depressed price is pretty much gone. Voracek looks like a great post-break play.

He has seven assists in his last seven games. While he won't deliver a point-per-game like he did last season, Voracek is on pace to deliver close to 70 points. That's solid fantasy production on any squad.

The 29-year-old has averaged a point per game over the last eight contests, and seven of his eight points have been assists. He's been the model of consistency, posting one assist in five of the last six contests. However, Voracek still needs quite a few helpers to catch up to his pace from last season. He's followed up his first point per game season of 2017-18 with 11 goals and 40 points in the first 50 contests of 2018-19.

Voracek tallied a goal, two assists and four shots during Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Capitals.

Voracek continues to run hot and cold with five points in the last four games to give him 10 goals and 32 points in 42 games. The 29-year-old lacks consistency and is burdened by a dismal minus-18 rating, but he's capable of being dominant for stretches so fantasy owners should continue to roll him out and hope he can stay hot for a while longer.

If he continues to produce at this rate, he'll finish the season with 20 fewer apples than his personal-best 65-spot from last season. While it was nice to see the venerable winger factor into two man-advantage goals Thursday, fantasy owners need much more from him when it comes to that important special teams category. He's gone five straight seasons with at least 23 power-play points, but Voracek only has one goal and seven assists in that spot this year.

The 29-year-old ended 2018 the right way, posting two goals and five points in the final six games. Still, Voracek's assists numbers are down, and it's led to a disappointing point total through 38 games. Last season, Voracek recorded 20 goals and 85 points in 82 contests. He has 10 goals and 30 points through 38 games.

Voracek scored the lone goal for Philadelphia in a 7-1 loss to the Jets on Sunday.

EDGE Analysis

Voracek's eighth goal of the season cut Winnipeg's lead in half late in the first period. However, the Jets would then score the next five unanswered, and that was that. Despite the blowout, the goal did extend Voracek's point streak to five games.

He also chipped in two shots, a hit and a plus-2 rating. Voracek has been bumped down to the third line, but Nolan Patrick's return from an upper body injury still provides that unit with a highly skilled center. The 29-year-old winger also still has a key spot on the power play, seeing over six minutes of ice time with the extra attacker Saturday even though all his production came at even strength. With three goals and 11 points through eight games, Voracek's fantasy value doesn't figure to drop much due to his "demotion".

Voracek will be on the third line in Saturday's home game against the Devils, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.

The Flyers evidently want some extra grit on the top line, hence why coach Dave Hakstol is having Voracek trade places with Wayne Simmonds in this matinee. Voracek has two goals and six helpers on the season, but all that production has taken place over three games, and the winger's been held in check for three straight contests.

Voracek dialed up an even-strength assist and another on the power play in Monday's 3-1 preseason win over the Islanders.

EDGE Analysis

Voracek ranked fourth in the NHL with 65 apples last campaign, but he's also reached 20 goals in back-to-back years. While the Czech winger is not very accurate (9.2 career shooting percentage), he makes up for it as a high-volume shooter, averaging 230 shots over the last five years in Philly.
