Lauko (lower body) will join the team for Monday's preseason matchup with the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Even fully fit, Lauko will be hard-pressed to earn a spot on the 23-man roster and figures to spend the bulk of the upcoming 2021-22 campaign playing for AHL Providence. Still, after racking up 19 points in 23 minor-league games last year, the Czech winger could show the team enough in camp to put himself on the shortlist of potential call-ups throughout the season.

Lauko will miss Boston's next two preseason games with a lower-body injury but could return against Philadelphia on Monday, Joe Haggerty of BostonHockeyNow.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko will almost certainly start the year in the minors with AHL Providence but a good showing in training camp could put him on the shortlist of potential call-ups during the year. The Czech winger tallied 19 points in 23 games in the minors last year, plus another 10 points while playing in the Czech league with Karlovy Vary HC.

Lauko will open the season with AHL Providence, Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bruins loaned the 2018 third-rounder to HC Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) for the start of the 2020-21 season, but the 20 year-old is back in North America to continue his quest to ascend to Boston's roster. Listed at 6-foot, 169 pounds, Lauko will need to demonstrate that he can handle the rigors of the pro game before he's summoned by the big club, with his speed being his ticket to the NHL.

Lauko will be on loan with HC Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) for the start of the 2020-21 season.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko is expected to rejoin the Bruins for the start of training camp but will at least get a few games in before November. In 22 games with AHL Providence, the 20-year-old winger notched five goals and four helpers. Even after attending camp, Lauko will likely either be sent back to Europe or the minors and shouldn't be expected to log significant time in the NHL next year.

Lauko (knee) returned to action for AHL Providence on Sunday against Hartford.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko, who suffered an MCL injury while playing for the Czech Republic at the World Junior Championship in late December, had last suited up for Providence on Dec. 7. Now that he's back in the lineup, the 19-year-old will look to close of his first pro season on a high note. To date, the 2018 third-rounder has recorded four goals and eight points in 19 AHL contests this season. Lauko needs some more minor league seasoning before he makes a run at a job with the big club, but down the road his speed could be a nice asset to Boston's forward corps.

Lauko (knee) was injured in the Czech Republic's opening game of the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko went down just six seconds into his first shift of the tournament. The TSN television feed later showed Lauko sitting rink side with his right leg in the air and his knee heavily taped. While there has been no official update from the team on his condition at this time, Lauko may very well be finished for a tournament that lasts less than two weeks. It would be a crushing loss for a Czech team who was expecting the 2018 Boston third-rounder to be one of their top offensive weapons.

The Bruins have assigned Lauko to AHL Providence.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko, a 2018 third-rounder, showed some flashes during training camp, but at 19 years of age, he needs some additional seasoning to help round out his all-around game. Down the road, Lauko's speed and skills could land him a key role with the big club, but the B's currently have enough depth up front to refrain from rushing the promising prospect.

Lauko scored the opening goal in Monday's 4-3 overtime win against the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko started the play with a great effort on the backcheck before getting a feed from defenseman Josiah Didier and tipping it around two Flyers skaters to break into the offensive zone. He finished off the play by going short-side, top-shelf on Brian Elliott to open the scoring, his first of the preseason. A 2018 third-round draft pick, Lauko will likely be heading back to juniors this season, but could make a solid push for a roster spot come next season.

Lauko picked up a goal and an assist in Rouyn-Noranda's 4-3 victory over Halifax in CHL Memorial Cup action Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Rouyn-Noranda, Halifax and Guelph all finished the round robin portion of the tournament at 2-1, but Halifax is the club moving directly to Sunday's final based upon the greatest goal differential of the three teams. The Huskies and Storm will battle in Friday's semifinal. With five points in three contests, Lauko has been a big part of Rouyn-Noranda's success in the tournament.

Lauko posted a hat trick in QMJHL Rouyn-Noranda's 5-1 victory over Quebec on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Lauko has shown more good than bad through the first 39 games of his QMJHL career. He has displayed a decent scoring touch (19 goals, 34 points) and is doing a terrific job of generating offense (155 shots on goal). Lauko's world-class speed would make him an ideal role player if his scoring dries up at the professional level. The 2018 third-round selection (77th overall) signed his entry-level with Boston in September.
