When they do, Markstrom's days as a relevant fantasy commodity could be numbered. Vancouver next plays host to the Oilers on Wednesday.

Markstrom is 17-12-3 with a 2.86 GAA and .908 save percentage over 32 games.

Markstrom has been a dependable fantasy goalie based on the fact that he hasn't surrendered more than three goals in a given outing since the calendar flipped to December -- that's a span of 11 games, folks. But looking ahead, the Swede does have a tall order against a Toronto team that ranks second in the league in scoring (3.68 goals per game) to complement a home record of 12-7-1.

Markstrom allowed a pair of goals on 27 shots in Thursday's 2-0 loss to the Canadiens.

Markstrom made some key saves to keep his team in the game Thursday, but his teammates had no luck in their collective bid to solve Carey Price, in the Habs netminder's return to action. The overall numbers still don't look very good, but Markstrom has played a lot better lately. He's put together just an incredible December, posting an 8-1-0 record with .943 save percentage and a 1.66 GAA. For the season, Markstrom still only has a save percentage of .910 and a GAA of 2.80, but he's one of the hottest goaltenders in the league at the moment and should be streamed across all formats until he cools off.
