Former Predators forward J.P. Dumont is practicing with a number of his old teammates during the lockout in an effort to latch in with an NHL club. Dumont's contract was bought out by the Preds prior to last season and he signed on with Bern of the Swiss league, where he recorded 31 points in 31 games. His ultimate goal is to return to the NHL, where he could still be a useful power-play specialist.

J.P. Dumont has been bought out by the Nashville Predators. He posted 10 goals and nine assists in 70 games for the Predators last season and will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Dumont's buyout will cost Nashville $1.66 million over the next two seasons.
