Michael Hutchinson replaced him in Monday's contest.

The Dane owns a 24-9-6 record with a 2.87 GAA and a .910 save percentage this season and while he's had his share of struggles, Toronto boasts enough firepower in front of Andersen to make up for the odd poor outing. A matchup with the lowly Senators up next could see the Leafs give Michael Hutchinson a start, though, nothing has been confirmed yet.

According to Mark Masters of TSN.ca, the Maple Leafs aren't going to make any changes to their lineup for Wednesday's road game versus the Stars, which means Andersen will get the start in goal.

Andersen was sharp in his last start Monday against the Predators, turning aside 34 of 36 shots en route to a convincing 5-2 road win. The 30-year-old Dane will attempt to pick up his 24th victory of the season in another road matchup with a Dallas club that's posted a 16-7-2 record at home this year despite averaging just 2.60 goals per game in those contests, 30th in the NHL.

Andersen had gone into the All-Star break with a 6-2 loss to Chicago so it was encouraging to see him turn in a rock-solid performance in his first start out of the break. The 30-year-old has been inconsistent the past few weeks and had logged a sub.-900 save percentage in January coming into Monday's start. He'll try to put together back-to-back strong starts Wednesday in Dallas.

Andersen will tend the twine for Monday's road clash with the Predators, Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun reports.

EDGE Analysis

In his last five outings before the All-Star break, Andersen posted a 1-1-2 record, 4.03 GAA and .867 save percentage. The Leafs already find themselves on the outside looking in for a playoff spot by four points and will need the veteran netminder to rediscover his game soon. The 30-year-old has performed well historically against Nashville, as he is 8-2-0 with a 2.32 GAA in 11 career matchups.

Andersen has scuffled of late -- he's 3-1-5 in his last nine starts. And his numbers have steadily declined month-to-month, probably because of overwork. The Leafs need to do something to give this guy some rest or they'll suffer. And so will your squad.

The Blackhawks have shown life lately with three straight wins, and they rank 13th in the league with 2.96 goals per road contest.

Andersen made 31 saves in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Flames on Thursday night.

Andersen made several point-blank saves, including a huge one in overtime to keep the game tied. He was super sharp, but Big Save Dave Rittich was better in the other net. Both men are headed to the All-Star Game next week; the Leafs have one more start on Saturday before Andersen heads off to St. Louis.
