Andersen is slated to start Saturday against Nashville, Sara Civian of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Danish netminder emerged victorious in his Carolina debut Thursday, turning aside 25 of 28 shots against the visiting Islanders. In 11 career starts against the Predators, Andersen has put up a tidy 2.29 GAA and .929 save percentage, so he should make for a decent fantasy play Saturday behind a strong Hurricanes offense.

Andersen stopped 25 of 28 shots Thursday in a 6-3 win over the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen was making his Carolina debut after having spent his previous five seasons in Toronto. He wasn't lacking for offensive support, as the Hurricanes provided him with two goals in each period after an early 1-0 deficit. Andersen went 13-8-3 for the Maple Leafs in 2020-21, albeit with an underwhelming 2.96 GAA and .895 save percentage, both of which were the worst marks of his eight-year NHL career.

Andersen will guard the home goal during Thursday's regular-season opener versus the Islanders, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen wasn't great for the Maple Leafs last season, going 13-8-3 while posting a sub-par 2.96 GAA and .895 save percentage, but he may be able to rebound behind a highly-talented Carolina roster in 2021-22. The Danish netminder will attempt to pick up his first win as a Hurricane in a home matchup with an Isles squad that averaged just 2.00 goals per game on the road last campaign, 30th in the NHL.

Andersen will tend the twine for Saturday's road clash with Nashville, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen appeared in a career-low 24 games for the Maple Leafs last year despite posting a solid 13-8-3 record and 2.96 GAA. With his new club, the 32-year-old Dane should get back to being a 50-60 game netminder and could provide top-half fantasy value as a regular starter.

Andersen is expected to get the starting nod for Tuesday's home game against Tampa Bay, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
EDGE Analysis
After five seasons in Toronto, Andersen made the jump to the Hurricanes in the offseason, essentially switching places with Petr Mrazek. The 31-year-old Dane should see the bulk of the starts over Antti Raanta (upper body) and could even get back to playing closer to 60 games during the upcoming campaign, a threshold he's reached three times in his career. As such, Andersen figures to be a top fantasy target given his expected heavy workload.

Andersen signed a two-year, $9 million contract with the Hurricanes on Wednesday, Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen struggled last season, going 13-8-3 while posting a sub-par 2.96 GAA and .895 save percentage in 24 appearances with the Maple Leafs, but it's suspected that he was playing through injury for much of the campaign, so the Hurricanes are clearly hoping he'll be able to remain healthy and return to form behind their strong defense in 2021-22. Carolina also signed Antti Raanta on Wednesday, but Andersen should enter the year as the team's No. 1 netminder.

Andersen (lower body) stopped 24 of 28 shots Wednesday in a 4-3 overtime loss to Ottawa.
EDGE Analysis
Making his first start since March 19, Andersen had his return spoiled when Ottawa's Josh Norris finished off a 2-on-1 rush just nine seconds into overtime. Andersen dropped to 13-8-2 on the year with a 2.91 GAA and .897 save percentage, although the fact that he was finally able to return to the lineup is the bigger story than the result. Toronto coach Sheldon Keefe had already indicated Jack Campbell will start Friday's season finale, so it will be interesting to see who gets the nod for the playoff opener.

Andersen (lower body) will guard the cage on the road versus Ottawa on Wednesday, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports, meaning he'll be activated off injured reserve prior to puck drop.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen returns to the crease for the first time since March 19 against the Flames. Prior to getting hurt, the veteran netminder was struggling, as he was 1-5-0 with a 3.84 GAA and .862 save percentage in his last six outings. Barring any setbacks, Andersen should reclaim his spot as the starter heading into the postseason.

Andersen (lower body) was back with the Maple Leafs at practice Monday following his conditioning assignment with AHL Toronto, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports.
EDGE Analysis
With the Marlies, Andersen faced 52 shots in two games, allowing six goals. The Leafs will likely look to get the Dane at least one tuneup outing either Wednesday or Friday against the Senators or Jets, respectively. If fully fit, the netminder could actually get a look in both contests in order to be back to game fitness for the start of the postseason.

Andersen (lower body) appeared in an AHL game Saturday on a conditioning stint and made 34 saves in a 5-4 shootout loss to Manitoba, the Winnipeg Jets' affiliate.
EDGE Analysis
He played 64:32 and stopped just one of three shots in the shootout. Andersen allowed two goals on 14 shots in a 5-3 AHL loss to Manitoba in 30:52 in his first outing Thursday. The goalie admittedly said he felt some rust in Thursday's contest but pushed the intensity Saturday and felt better as the game went on. Andersen hopes to get into game action with the Maple Leafs before the end of the season; their last game is May 14. There is no timetable yet for his return to the NHL.
