Andersen will guard the home goal versus the Senators on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen once again opens the season as the Hurricanes' top goalie with Antti Raanta as his understudy. The 34-year-old Andersen was limited to 34 games last season, recording a 21-11-1 record, a 2.48 GAA and a .903 save percentage, a down year by his standards. With Pyotr Kochetkov waiting in the minors, Andersen will need to stay sharp to keep the No. 1 job this year.

Andersen inked a two-year, $6.8 million pact with Carolina on Saturday, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen was reportedly set to land elsewhere but was able to finalize a deal to remain in Carolina. The club also re-signed Antti Raanta on Saturday, so fantasy players should expect the duo to split the workload heading into the 2023-24 campaign.

Andersen turned aside 20 of 24 shots in a 4-3 loss to Florida in Game 4 on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Carolina lost Andersen's previous two starts despite him stopping 73 of 77 shots over that span. In contrast, the Hurricanes were able to provide him with decent offensive support Wednesday, but that didn't change the result. Andersen was beaten twice in the first period and surrendered a goal in each of the second and third frames. With Carolina eliminated from contention, the goaltender has finished the playoffs with a 5-3 record, 1.83 GAA and .927 save percentage in nine appearances.

Andersen will start on the road in Wednesday's Game 4 versus the Panthers, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has allowed just four goals on 77 shots in two appearances during the Eastern Conference Finals, but he's ended up with a loss in both of those games. He'll get the chance to help the Hurricanes avoid elimination Wednesday, as the Panthers are looking to sweep the series.

Andersen stopped 16 of 17 shots in a 1-0 loss to Florida in Game 3 on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The only goal Andersen allowed was scored during a Panthers power play. Between him and Antti Raanta, who started in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Carolina's goaltenders have surrendered just six goals on 103 shots in this series, but the Hurricanes' forwards have gone cold. Carolina now finds itself down 3-0 with Game 4 set to be played Wednesday. It wouldn't be surprising if Andersen started in the must-win contest, especially because Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour's probable motivation for using Raanta in Game 2 was to rest Andersen after Thursday's quadruple-overtime contest. Fatigue shouldn't be a concern after the relatively light workload during Monday's outing. Andersen has a strong track record too, going 5-2 with a 1.58 GAA and a .937 save percentage in eight playoff appearances this year.

Andersen will guard the road goal in Game 3 against Florida on Monday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen stopped 57 shots in Thursday's 3-2 quadruple-overtime loss to the Panthers. He has a 5-1 record this postseason in seven starts, having surrendered just 13 goals on 204 shots. Florida has posted 3.21 goals per game during the 2023 playoffs.

Andersen stopped 57 of 60 shots in Thursday's 3-2 quadruple-overtime loss to the Panthers in Game 1.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen gave up a couple of goals to the Panthers' top line in the second period. He settled in for over 100 minutes of playing time before a late turnover in the fourth overtime led to Matthew Tkachuk's game-winning tally. This was the first time Andersen's been charged with a loss this postseason, and just the third time in seven outings he's given up multiple goals. Assuming he recovers well from the marathon game, he should be back in net for Game 2 on Saturday.

Andersen will guard the home goal versus the Panthers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen regained the starting job in the second round, posting a 2.01 GAA and a .918 save percentage in a 4-1 series win over the Devils. He'll now get a chance to take on the Panthers after facing them only once in the regular season, which came in the Hurricanes' last game of the campaign. He stopped 30 of 34 shots in that contest.

Andersen stopped 27 of 29 shots to grab a series-clinching 3-2 win over the Devils on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has seen action in just six games this postseason, but managers have to like how he responded to the lowest point of the playoffs. He allowed four goals on 12 shots in Game 3. He responded by stopping 21 of 22 in Game 4 and 27 of 29 in Game 5. It bodes well for his ability to be resilient as the 'Canes move on to the conference finals.

Andersen is set to start at home against New Jersey in Game 5 on Thursday, per Tom Gulitti of NHL.com.
EDGE Analysis
Antti Raanta (illness) is ready to return to the lineup, but he's slated to serve as the backup Thursday. That makes sense given that Andersen has been very effective in the second round, posting a 2.09 GAA and a .914 save percentage in four outings. The Devils have averaged 2.55 goals per game in the 2023 playoffs.
