Andersen made 24 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Kraken on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen had missed the last three games after taking a puck to the mask in a win at San Jose on Oct. 17. He was exactly what the Canes needed to snap a three-game losing streak. The net belongs to Andersen as long as he's healthy, but he won't have a heavy workload -- he gets injured far too much. But while he's in the blue paint, he should be in yours, too.

Andersen will protect the home goal versus the Kraken on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen hasn't played since taking a puck off the mask versus the Sharks on Oct. 17. He was the backup for the Hurricanes' 3-0 loss to the Lightning on Tuesday, and Andersen will get back in the crease a game later. The Dane has allowed nine goals on 62 shots through his three appearances this season.

Andersen (upper body) will back up Pyotr Kochetkov in Tuesday's game versus the Lightning, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen isn't yet ready to start a game, but he's moved past his injury enough to dress as the backup. The 34-year-old netminder missed two contests with the injury. The Hurricanes' goaltending has been abysmal thus far, so any member of the trio of Andersen, Kochetkov and Antti Raanta could carve out a larger role with a stretch of good performances.

Andersen (upper body) won't be in the lineup Saturday against Colorado, Ryan Boulding of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen will miss a second straight contest after exiting Tuesday's 6-3 win over San Jose early in the first period. Carolina will continue to be cautious him, so Antti Raanta is poised to make another start.

Andersen (upper body) will sit out Thursday's game versus the Kraken, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen left his last start in the first period after getting hit in the mask. The 34-year-old's absence is being described as precautionary, so there's little reason for long-term concern at this time. Pyotr Kochetkov will back up Antti Raanta in Seattle.

Andersen left Tuesday's game versus the Sharks for precautionary reasons after taking a shot to the mask.
EDGE Analysis
The Hurricanes didn't specify the nature of the injury, but it's safe to assume it's an upper-body issue for the goalie. Andersen stopped one of two shots prior to his exit. Antti Raanta took over in goal and would likely assume the starter role if Andersen misses any additional time beyond Tuesday.

Andersen was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports, indicating he will guard the road net Tuesday against the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Andersen has won his previous two starts this season despite allowing eight goals on 60 shots. San Jose has scored just two goals through two games this campaign.

Andersen stopped 25 of 30 shots in Saturday's 6-5 shootout win over the Kings.
EDGE Analysis
The Hurricanes led 5-2 just after the middle of the second period, but Andersen couldn't make that lead stick. Despite the late fade, he ended up stopping seven of nine shootout attempts to secure the win, his second in as many starts this season. Andersen has allowed eight goals on 60 shots to begin 2023-24. He'll likely rotate regularly with Antti Raanta as the Hurricanes are expected to use a tandem to keep both of their goalies fresh. They play again Sunday in Anaheim.

Andersen stopped 27 of 30 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Ottawa would tie the game 3-3 with a pair of goals in the third period against Andersen before the Hurricanes answered with two goals of their own to secure an Opening Night victory. The 34-year-old Andersen went 21-11-1 last year with a .903 save percentage and a 2.48 GAA. He'll likely split starting duties with Antti Raanta to open the 2023-24 campaign.
