Evgeni Nabokov will play between the pipes on Saturday. It will be Nabokov's 11th straight start. Al Montoya (concussion) is inching towards his return, but Rick DiPietro (sports hernia) is likely done for the season. With that in mind, the Islanders aren't expected to have three healthy goaltenders for any extended period for the rest of 2011-12.

Evgeni Nabokov allowed three goals on 22 shots in the Islanders' 3-2 loss to the Flyers Thursday night. It's been a rough start to calendar 2012 for the 36-year-old Nabokov. The veteran has had an up-and-down season and now sports a 6-11-0 record on the season. Nabokov has looked like a top goaltender at times, but the Islanders are a tough team to peg fantasy-wise, especially in net. At this point, owning Nabokov is a roll of the dice and he should only be used on your fantasy team as a spot starter against low scoring teams, if at all.

Evgeni Nabokov defended 23 of 24 shots against Detroit to post his sixth victory of the season. Nabokov was making his ninth consecutive start for the Islanders due to injuries to Al Montoya and Rick DiPietro. The 'W' snapped a mini two-game losing slide for the New York goaltender after he was victorious in his previous three outings.

Evgeni Nabokov will make his ninth straight start for the Islanders tonight when they host Detroit. Citing how busy Kevin Poulin has been the past week with Bridgeport (AHL), coach Jack Capuano decided to stick with Nabokov and have Poulin serve as the backup. It's been a rough start to calendar 2012 for the 36-year-old Nabokov. He has allowed 12 goals on 85 shots (.859) in three games, including five on 25 shots in Saturday's loss to Phoenix. On the season, Nabokov is 5-10-0, 2.77 GAA with a .908 save percentage.

Evgeni Nabokov is closing in on 300 career wins. The veteran netminder has 298. There are only 25 other goaltenders in NHL history who have recorded 300 wins, so it will be quite the milestone for the Russian once it is achieved. Once Al Montoya and/or Rick DiPietro are healthy again we fully expect Nabokov to be dealt to a contending NHL squad.

Evgeni Nabokov was awful Saturday night, allowing five goals in the New York Islanders' 5-1 setback to the Phoenix Coyotes. To make matters worse, these goals were scored on only 25 shots, and Nabokov has now given up nine goals in his last two games -- on a combined 45 shots, which equates to an .800 save percentage. The veteran has had an up-and-down season and now sports a 2.77 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 17 games played. The Isles need him to be better to reap the benefits once the trade season begins to heat up.

Evgeni Nabokov made 16 saves in the Islanders 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. The loss ended Nabokov's three game win streak. The 36 year old veteran has played well on this mediocre squad, and will be involved in a ton of trade deadline rumours this year. He's not the same dominant goalie he was before he left for Russia, but he is still a starting calibre goalie in this league.

Evgeni Nabokov will be the Islanders' starting goaltender in Friday's game against Anaheim. Nabokov has been great lately, winning three straight contests and posting a save percentage of .925 or higher in each game. Nabokov will continue to get the vast majority of the Islanders starts until Al Montoya or, to a lesser extent, Rick DiPietro are ready to return from their respective injuries.

Evgeni Nabokov turned aside 37 of 40 shots en route to a 4-3 overtime win over Carolina Tuesday night. Making his sixth straight start in place of the injured Al Montoya, Nabokov earned his third consecutive win. Expect him to be between the pipes again for New York's next contest.

Evgeni Nabokov will play between the pipes on Tuesday. It will be Nabokov's sixth consecutive start. He's stepped up with Al Montoya and Rick DiPietro both injured and might keep the starting job even after the Islanders' other goaltenders are healthy. Nabokov has allowed just four goals in his last three games.
