Johnson has one goal and a minus-2 rating with two PIM in nine games this season.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran defenseman started the scoring in a victory against the Capitals 10 days ago, but that's his only point of the season, and since then, he owns a minus-2 rating in four contests. Johnson is known for his all-around value in several categories as opposed his scoring, but his lone goal in nine contests is a far cry from his seven goals and 25 points from last season. Still, it's too early to give up on Johnson. He's never failed to reach 20 points in a season where he plays at least 50 games.

EDGE Analysis

It's the first point of the year for the 31-year-old defender, who has added 13 shots on goal, nine blocked shots and nine hits in five games. The Minnesota native has posted 25 points in each of the last two seasons, but he's also managed at least 100 hits, blocks and shots on goal in those campaigns to help offset the relative lack of offense.

Johnson (shoulder) told reporters he will be 100 percent for Opening Night against the Flames on Oct. 3, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Johnson played much of last season with this nagging shoulder issue before finally having surgery in the offseason. While the defender was clear that he wasn't 100 percent at the moment, he fully intends to be ready to go for the start of the 2019-20 campaign. The departure of Tyson Barrie will put even more pressure on Johnson to produce in the offensive zone and could see him top the 30-point mark for the first time since 2013-14.
