O'Dell signed a contract with HC Sochi of the KHL on Wednesday, TSN reports.

O'Dell is a journeyman lauded for his on-ice vision and playmaking ability. Drafted by the Ducks in the second round (39th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, O'Dell spent last season between AHL Binghamton, an affiliate of the Senators, and the Rochester Americans, once he was traded to the Sabres organization at the deadline this past February. He's generated only eight points (three goals, five assists) in 41 NHL games with the Jets.

O'Dell and three others were traded to Buffalo on Friday, reports the Democrat & Chronicle.

O'Dell has played just 41 NHL games past three seasons, and has yet to make an appearance this year. A restricted free agent at the end of the season, O'Dell is a depth foward; he's a proven scorer in the AHL but has yet to translate that success to the NHL. The former second-round pick could see a late-season audition for the Sabres to see if he's worth re-signing, but he's not expected to make a significant impact.

O'Dell signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Senators on Wednesday, CBC.ca reports. The Ottawa native, who recorded one helper in 11 games for the Jets this past season, will bolster the Sens' depth up front, but he figures to remain off the fantasy radar barring a slew of injuries to the team's forward corps.

O'Dell was recalled from AHL St. John's on Friday, Tim Campbell of the Winnipeg Free Press reports. With Bryan Little (undisclosed) expected to miss at least the next two games, O'Dell could perhaps slot in on the third or fourth line. The 24-year-old O'Dell has just one NHL appearance to his name this season, but he does have 29 points (14 goals) in 37 games for AHL St. John's.

The Jets assigned O'Dell to AHL St. John's on Sunday. O'Dell's assignment arrives on the heels of the Jets' acquisition of Lee Stempniak from the Rangers on Sunday.

O'Dell was recalled from AHL St. John's on Monday. With Mathieu Perreault recently ruled out indefinitely and Matt Halischuk still dealing with an injury, O'Dell will get the Jets some depth at forward. In 37 games at AHL this season, the 24-year-old has 14 goals and 14 assists.

O'Dell (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. Though coach Paul Maurice indicated just over a week ago that O'Dell was progressing positively from his injury, it apparently wasn't significant enough to make him available for the start of the season. He'll probably need a rehab stint at AHL St. John's before he's activated.

Coach Paul Maurice said O'Dell is "coming along" from an undisclosed injury, the Winnipeg Free Press reports. O'Dell has yet to appear in any preseason games for the Jets, which could make him vulnerable as the team prepares their final cutdowns. Even if he returns to full health and makes the squad, O'Dell would likely spend most games in the press box.

The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed restricted free agent Eric O'Dell to a one-year contract worth $650,000. O'Dell played in 30 games for the Jets last season and produced three goals and four assists. The Jets also announced they've re-signed two other restricted free agents to separate one-year deals -- Patrice Cormier ($625,000), and John Albert ($585,000) Cormier and Albert each played in nine games. Cormier notched three assists and Albert scored one goal.

Eric O'Dell has continued to make the most out of his stint with the AHL St. John's IceCaps during their playoff run. O'Dell got his first taste of NHL action this season, scoring three goals and seven points in 30 games with the Winnipeg Jets. Back with the IceCaps, he's scored nine goals and 11 points in 16 contests to help them with their run to the Calder Cup Final.
