Larkin (personal) will be absent from Thursday's game against Boston.
EDGE Analysis
With the Wings in the midst of a four-game road trip, Larkin should probably be considered questionable, at best, to play versus the Sabres on Saturday. Whenever the 25-year-old center does return to the lineup, he should immediately retake his spot on the first line in addition to jumping back onto the No. 1 power-play unit.

Larkin will be absent against the Canadiens on Tuesday for personal reasons.
EDGE Analysis
With both Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi (not injury related) unavailable, the Red Wings will be without two of their top-three point producers this season. Michael Rasmussen is expected to slide into Larkin's spot on the second line while Adam Erne (undisclosed) should rejoin the lineup.

Larkin scored the game-winning goal on his lone shot of the game Wednesday in a 3-2 overtime win over Washington. He also had two hits.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin loaded and fired from the right faceoff circle, beating Vitek Vanecek glove side less than two minutes into overtime. The goal, Larkin's third of the year, completed Detroit's rally from a 2-0 deficit. Larkin has hit the scoresheet in five of his first six games, amassing eight points along with a team-high 14 PIM.

Larkin recorded three assists, three shots on net, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
All three of Larkin's helpers were primary assists -- one to Tyler Bertuzzi and two to Lucas Raymond to help the rookie winger complete a hat trick. The 25-year-old Larkin looks more like himself this year after struggling with 23 points in 44 contests last year. Through five games in 2021-22, he's piled up two goals, five helpers, 15 shots on net, 14 PIM and a plus-5 rating as the Red Wings' top-line center.

Larkin scored a power-play goal on four shots in Saturday's 6-1 loss to Montreal. He also won eight of 13 (61.5 percent) faceoffs.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin got the Red Wings off to a quick start, opening the scoring 5:25 into the game. He faked a shot at the top of the left circle, crept in closer and roofed a wrister past Montreal netminder Jake Allen for his second goal of the year. That was the lone highlight of the night for Detroit, which yielded the next six goals as Montreal picked up its first win of the year. Larkin has points in three of his first four games, amassing four points and 12 shots with 12 PIM.

Larkin registered two assists with three shots in a 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Tuesday. He also went 11-for-17 (64.7 percent) on faceoffs.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin helped the Red Wings break a scoreless tie in the third period, deftly setting up a pair of odd-man rush goals. He slid a 2-on-1 feed to Lucas Raymond for the rookie's first NHL goal at 6:17, then he dished to Tyler Bertuzzi on another rush less than three minutes later to make it a 2-0 game. Larkin, who sat out Saturday's game due to a suspension, has three points and a plus-5 rating his his first two contests.

Larkin (undisclosed) will be in the lineup against Columbus on Tuesday, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
In addition to serving his one-match ban, Larkin appears to have avoided any major issues related to his undisclosed injury. The Michigan native will look to pick up right where he left off, having scored a goal on three shots in the season opener versus Tampa Bay. Larkin's return will see Robby Fabbri slide back to the wing while Pius Suter returns to a second-line role.

Larkin (undisclosed) will be suspended one game for roughing Mathieu Joseph of Tampa Bay in Thursday's matchup, per the Department of Player Safety. As a result, Larkin won't be eligible to play against Vancouver on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin was unable to practice Friday resulting from a crosscheck that led to the incident in question, which will obviously be the more significant concern for the top-end center moving forward. With their captain unavailable Saturday, the Red Wings are expected to move Robby Fabbri to center and elevate him to a first-line role. Depending on the severity of his injury, Larkin will be eligible to suit up versus Columbus on Tuesday.

Larkin missed Friday's practice with an undisclosed injury, Ansar Khan of MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Larkin is set to see a specialist regarding his undisclosed injury, so it sounds like he could be in danger of missing some time. To make matters worse, the 25-year-old pivot is also facing a potential suspension for roughing Tampa Bay's Mathieu Joseph during Thursday's overtime loss to the Lightning. Another update on Larkin should surface prior to Saturday's clash with the Canucks.

Larkin will have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety on Friday for roughing the Lightning's Mathieu Joseph.
EDGE Analysis
With the Red Wings playing against the Canucks on Saturday, the league will move swiftly to determine what, if any, suspension is deemed necessary for Larkin. The 25-year-old center logged just 11:39 of ice time versus Tampa Bay on Thursday before being ejected from the game, which could serve to shorten the length of his potential ban. Without Larkin, Pius Suter figures to jump into a first-line role while Tyler Bertuzzi could take his spot on the top power play.
