DeMelo found twine on a late-third-period power play Tuesday against the Avs for his first NHL goal.
EDGE Analysis
The tally represents only the rookie's second point in 23 NHL games this season, and considering the very modest offensive upside he's shown in the AHL, this is more of a nice moment for DeMelo than an actionable item for fantasy owners. It is worth noting, though, that DeMelo has seen increased time on the power play over the last two games despite his overall ice time remaining quite limited.

With an assist in Saturday's win over Dallas, DeMelo registered his first NHL point.
EDGE Analysis
With just one assist in 18 NHL games, his fantasy value isn't high. Yet, he's a defenseman of the future for the organization. His real value for next season may begin to crystalize as the season wears on.

DeMelo was recalled back to the Sharks on Friday, Kevin Kurtz of CSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
DeMelo is having an up and down year, literally, as he bounces back and forth between the majors and minors. In his two NHL games, the defenseman recorded just two shots on goal and was a minus-1.

DeMelo was reassigned to AHL San Jose on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
DeMelo was recalled before Saturday's game as an extra in case one of the Sharks' blueliners couldn't go, and he'll now return to the minors following the contest. He'll once again provide organizational depth, and could continue to move between the two clubs when needed.

DeMelo was recalled to the NHL on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
DeMelo is getting a shot with Justin Braun being placed on injured reserve. DeMelo has posted no goals and five assists through 12 games with AHL San Jose this season. He may be up with the team for a bit, but there's not yet any indication that he'll draw into the lineup.

DeMelo was returned to AHL San Jose on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
DeMelo may ride the carousel all year -- up and down, up and down. He's played just two NHL games this year and he's young enough that the team will prefer him getting games in the AHL to sitting in the press box in the NHL. That lack of consistency makes him tough to roster.

DeMelo has been recalled from AHL San Jose.
EDGE Analysis
DeMelo makes his return to the big club following an initial two game stint during mid-October. DeMelo is not likely to play for the time being, as the Sharks don't have any injuries on their back end, meaning his recall was prompted only by Mirco Mueller's reassignment to the AHL.

DeMelo was sent to AHL San Jose on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
DeMelo joined the Sharks as blue line depth with Paul Martin sidelined due to injury, and drew into each of the last two contests. He will now return to the minors, with Mirco Mueller now replacing him in that role.

DeMelo has been a revelation for the Sharks in camp and is now the "odds-on favorite" to be paired with Brendon Dillon on opening night, according to CSN's Kevin Kurz.
EDGE Analysis
Even if DeMelo doesn't get the job, this situation means that you can't feel very comfortable rostering Matt Tennyson or Mirco Mueller right now. If DeMelo gets the job, both of them are going to be limited with Tennyson likely to be a healthy scratch and Mueller likely to return to the AHL. If it's not DeMelo, it should still worry owners that DeMelo played so well. It may mean a short leash for whoever does get the job.
