While some would have hoped for Dustin Brown to sit out Saturday altogether, the Los Angeles Kings' captain made a big impact in the team's 3-2 shootout win against the Colorado Avalanche. Brown collected one assist, four SOG and eight hits in the type of performance that exemplifies why he's so valuable in fantasy, particularly in leagues with deeper stats.

Dustin Brown won't be suspended or fined for his knee-on-knee hit to Tomas Hertl on Thursday. Brown was given a five-minute major and game misconduct for his actions. Although the extent of Hertl's injury isn't confirmed yet, reports have indicated that he will miss at least a month.

Dustin Brown's empty net goal on Tuesday was his 400th career point. Brown was held off the scoresheet in the Kings' previous four contests. He's been something of a disappointment so far in 2013-14 with seven goals, five assists, and 28 penalty minutes in 35 games this season.

Dustin Brown lit the lamp for the Kings in their 3-0 win over the Islanders on Saturday night. With only six goals and 11 points, Brown has had a very rough start to the season, but two of those goals have come over the past two games, so maybe he's starting to thaw out from his struggles. Beyond just his performance for the Kings, Brown needs to start picking up the pace to enter the Olympics with some confidence. He has a 10.2 shooting percentage for his career, and he's at 7.1 now, so the goals should come if he continues to get shots on net. Anze Kopitar and Tyler Toffoli (empty net) also scored for the Kings.

Dustin Brown scored a goal in Los Angeles' 3-2 shootout win over Anaheim Tuesday evening. The Kings captain ended a six-game goal-scoring drought with a shot that went off Jonas Hiller's glove and bounced into the net at 5:43 of the third to tie it 2-2. Brown now has five goals and five assists in 29 games and that is a disappoinment at least to his fantasy owners. Jeff Carter scored the other goal for the Kings.

Dustin Brown has found the back of the net only twice in his last 23 games. Brown has contributed with a plus-10 rating and 22 penalty minutes in 27 games but fantasy owners expected a lot more than four goals and nine points at this stage of the season. He is a good buy-low candidate at this time.

Dustin Brown has three points in 10 November games. It's a good thing that he is plus-seven in November or you could consider dropping him in shallower leagues. Brown is typically a streaky scorer so he should be heating up soon. Brown has four goals and nine points in 24 games with a plus-10 rating and 16 penalty minutes.

Dustin Brown had seven hits to lead the Kings Saturday. Brown is not scoring this season like he has in the past as he has only three goals and seven points in 17 games this season. He had five straight seasons over 50 points until the lockout last year where he ended up with 18 goals and 29 points in 46 games. He can be a streaky player so get ready to put him in your lineup if he is reserved as he is due.

Dustin Brown sees Jeff Carter's loss as one that creates opportunities for others to step up and make a name for themselves. Carter, who has nine points, was placed on the injured reserve Friday with an undisclosed injury. "He has been a key part of our team since he's been here," said Brown. "Again, it's an opportunity for other guys to step up, whether it's offensively or on the" penalty kill. "There are just more minutes. Again, I think that's the strength of our team. We've played without Rick [Richards]. We've played without [Anze Kopitar]. It's just a matter of having the depth to battle through it."
