Uher agreed to a one-year deal with Czech side HC Sparta Praha on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Uher, a fifth round pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins, spent the last four seasons with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton where he racked up 69 points in 136 contests. While the winger has shown progress, he has seen several other Baby Pens reach the NHL and start making an impact including Bryan Rust and Tom Kuhnhackl and will instead return to his native Czech Republic to continue his professional career.

Uher was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday. The demotions Tuesday of Uher and Brian Dumoulin signal that two of Beau Bennett (knee), Christian Ehrhoff (lower body), and Craig Adams (undisclosed) will be set to rejoin the lineup for the New Year's Eve match against the Hurricanes. Uher had appeared in two games with the Penguins across two separate stints just in the past week alone.

Uher was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Sunday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Uher will provide the Penguins with a 12th forward following injuries/illnesses of a plethora of the front group. With the news that Patric Hornqvist will miss multiple weeks, Huer could be in line to dress for Monday's game against the Devils.

Uher was reassigned to AHL Wilkes-Barre Scranton on Wednesday. Uher was one of three players that was reassigned to the minors Wednesday, joining Jeff Zatkoff and Taylor Chorney. It likely signals that the three players that were isolated from the team the last two games out of concern that they might be dealing with the mumps -- Steve Downie, Brandon Sutter, and Thomas Greiss -- have tested negative for the virus. Official word on their status should come when the team resumes practicing Friday. Uher made his NHL debut Tuesday against the Lightning, becoming the sixth Penguins player to do so just in December alone.

Uher was recalled from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. With the Penguins losing yet another forward to injury Monday night in Blake Comeau, Uher will join the parent club for what figures to be his NHL debut Tuesday against the Lightning. The 21-year-old has just nine points in 29 games for the AHL squad, and likely wouldn't warrant a serious look from the Penguins if not for the rash of injuries.

Dominik Uher struggled during his first professional season in 2012-13. The native of the Czech Republic came to North America in 2009 and played three seasons with Spokane of the WHL, getting drafted by the Penguins in the fifth round of the 2011 Draft. He had only four goals and seven points in 54 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as he found the jump from the juniors to the AHL difficult. "The pro league is much harder," Uher said. "You play against actual men, not just junior kids. The speed and the physicality in that league was really different. I had some hard times, but I'm glad that season is behind me and now I know what I'm going to be in, and I'm really looking forward to the season." Uher projects to be a bottom six forward if he ever makes it in the NHL and should not be considered in drafts at any time in his career unless he lucks out and gets to play alongside Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin.
