Fortunately, the 24-year-old blueliner seems to have escaped relatively unharmed, especially with fellow defenseman Brooks Orpik (upper body) sidelined indefinitely. Expect to see Orlov's workload increase with Orpik out of the lineup.

Orlov has had a great campaign with the Capitals, so it's not surprising that he was on Team Russia's radar. With seven goals and 25 points -- alongside a plus-16 rating -- in 62 games this season, Orlov has put an injury-plagued 2014-15 behind him and has emerged as a top-four defenseman at the NHL level, meeting Washington's expectations when they drafted him 55th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft.

Orlov blasted the puck past Michael Hutchinson blocker side, effectively extending his goals streak to three games. Despite the absence of Brooks Orpik (lower body), Orlov was on the ice for 15:33 -- compared to his season average of 14:16 -- and maybe his fantasy owners were expecting more ice time than that in this contest. However, Orlov is bound to earn a bigger role if he keeps playing at such a high level offensively.
