Brassard agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Geneve-Servette HC of Switzerland's National League on Wednesday, Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brassard previously announced his retirement back in June of 2024. He last played in the NHL in the 2022-23 season as a member of the Senators. While a return to action at the top level in North America may not be in the cards, both Gabriel Landeskog and Jonathan Toews came back following extended stints away from the game due to health issues.

Brassard's lower-body injury is "not good" and he'll likely miss time, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Brassard was hurt late in the second period, and it appeared to be an ankle or lower-leg issue. The 35-year-old will be evaluated further, and it's possible the Senators end up shutting him down rather than rushing him back this late in the season.

Brassard (lower body) won't finish Thursday's game versus the Flyers.
EDGE Analysis
The Senators didn't specify anything beyond lower-body injury, but Brassard's issue appeared to be with his ankle, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports. This may be longer than a day-to-day situation, but it's unclear when the Senators will provide an update on Brassard's status.

Brassard logged a goal on two shots in Monday's 5-2 win over the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Brassard's power-play tally in the first period was originally credited to Erik Brannstrom. However, it was determined that Brannstrom's shot ricocheted off Brassard's stick before sneaking past Sergei Bobrovsky. It's Brassard's second goal in his last three games, though he'd gone scoreless in his previous nine contests. The 35-year-old veteran is up to 13 goals and 23 points in 61 appearances this season.

Brassard scored twice Thursday in a 5-3 win over the Rangers. It was his 1,000th NHL game.
EDGE Analysis
He tipped in a pass from Mathieu Joseph at the midpoint of the second period and then tied the game just 1:36 into the third. Brassard is riding a four-game, six-point streak (three goals, three assists), and he has managed that in limited ice time -- he played just 11:55 on Thursday. Overall, Brassard has delivered 213 goals, 330 asists and 543 points in those 1,000 games.

Brassard had a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over Montreal on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He opened the game late in the first period when he tipped Nick Holden's shot from the point inside the left post. The 35-year-old Brassard has nine goals and 17 points in 46 contests this season, but four of those points (one goal, three assists) have come in his last four games. Brassard doesn't offer much category coverage and the points are few and very far between. Consider this little run the exception, not the rule.

Brassard supplied an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Blackhawks.
EDGE Analysis
A career journeyman, Brassard has underwhelmed with eight goals and six assists through 43 games, but the silver lining is that half of his points have come on the power play. The 35-year-old, whose salary is at the minimum $750,000 on a one-year pact, is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer.
