Derek Meech has agreed to an AHL contract with the Texas Stars. Texas is an affiliate of the Dallas Stars. Meech, 29, has five assists in 23 KHL contests in 2013-14. He also has 17 points and 45 penalty minutes in 144 career NHL games.

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Derek Meech signed with Dinamo Minsk in the KHL. Meech spent parts of two seasons with Winnipeg, failing to score a point in two games in 2011-12 while getting a lone assist in 16 contests in 2013. He's the third Jets player to leave for the KHL this summer.

Derek Meech got back into Winnipeg's lineup Monday night for the first time since April 1. He registered an assist, which was his first point in 16 appearances with his hometown Jets, and had a plus-1 rating in 19:53 of ice time. Meech got back into the fold because of Zach Bogosian's injury.
