Seidenberg has only played one game for the Islanders in the early part of the season.
EDGE Analysis
It came as a surprise to some that the Islanders re-signed the veteran defenseman as the team has plenty of depth at the position. In the one game that Seidenberg did play this season he was a minus three which won't help his case for more ice time. Seidenberg may very well have to get used to the view from the press box on game nights.

Seidenberg signed a one-year contract with the Islanders on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
For the second-straight season, Seidenberg was signed to a single year deal, next season, he'll get a slight raise to $1.25 million compared to this year's $1 million. The blueliner had 22 points in 73 games, his highest total since notching 23 back in 2011-12.

Seidenberg registered an assist and four shots on net during Tuesday's overtime win against Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
It's been a bounce-back campaign for the veteran, as Seidenberg has posted five goals, 22 points and a plus-24 rating. Those numbers are serviceable in deep seasonal leagues, but with just 86 shots, 32 PIM and no power-play points, Seidenberg is far from a well-rounded asset. In most settings, you'll likely want to aim higher.

Seidenberg scored a goal in a 5-4 win over the Stars on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
The 35-year-old also skated to a plus-3 in the contest, bringing him up to an eye-popping plus-23 on the campaign. Also, while Seidenberg's 19 points aren't earth-shattering, it's his most since 2011-12 with the Bruins, so he seems to be having something of a renaissance in his first season in Brooklyn.

Seidenberg hasn't tallied any points in his last seven games.
EDGE Analysis
Seidenberg has been a better player than expected since signing with the Islanders during training camp. He only has one goal this season but does have 11 helpers. His value to the team has been as a stable veteran defender who for the most part won't make mistakes and will also allow several of their younger blue liners to get further seasoning in the AHL.

Seidenberg (jaw) has been activated from the team's injured reserve list and will be in the lineup for Thursday night's game in Washington.
EDGE Analysis
Seidenberg returns to the Islanders' lineup after missing the last seven games to injury. Despite playing in only 15 games so far this season, Seidenberg has managed four assists and a very respectable four goals from the blue line, albeit at an unsustainable 22.2% shot percentage. Either way, the Isles should be happy to have him back and fantasy owners should keep an eye on him to see if he can add to his solid point total.

Seidenberg (jaw) will not be in the lineup Monday against the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Seidenberg has yet to be activated off injured reserve and appears to need more time before he can return to the lineup for the Isles. When healthy, the defenseman has garnered four goals and four helpers in just 15 outings. The 35-year-old's fantasy value is somewhat limited considering he is not part of New York's power play, but could be a decent mid-range option when you factor in his productivity thus far this season.

Seidenberg (jaw) was on the ice Friday for the Islanders skate, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
Seidenberg is on IR with a broken jaw after getting hit with a puck. He has maybe been the Islanders best defenseman this year which may tell you all you need to know about the team's defense as he was only signed about a week before the season opener. Seidenberg won't play Friday but his return looks to be sooner rather than later.

Seidenberg (jaw) was designated for injured reserve Monday.
EDGE Analysis
The team stated that Seidenberg, who was hit in the face by a puck Saturday, was out indefinitely, but have not provided any more details regarding a possible return date. Being placed on IR will keep the 35-year-old out at least a week, but the recovery time will likely be longer. With the defenseman sidelined, the Isles emergency recalled Scott Mayfield from the minors.

Seidenberg is believed to be dealing with a fractured jaw after he was struck in the face by a shot attempt in Saturday's game against the Panthers, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Islanders haven't issued any information regarding the health of Seidenberg, who was held without a point for the third straight game Saturday on the heels of a four-game point streak. If Seidenberg is indeed forced to miss extended time with the injury, it would be another crippling blow to an Isles defense that is already without blueliners Ryan Pulock (lower body) and Travis Hamonic (arm) for the next several weeks.
