The forward got 11:33 of ice time in his first game of the season against Columbus on Saturday while skating on the third line. With Duchene having a slow start to the season, Coach Patrick Roy hopes placing Everberg on the top line can create a spark for the center against a surprisingly strong Florida team. While this may not be a long-term move, it does allow Everberg to be a cheap play in daily fantasy lineups.

Since returning, the 23-year-old has lit it up with AHL San Antonio over the first three games, collecting five point (three goals, two assists).
