David LeNeveu is happy to be a part of the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final. "It's a dream come true. You grow up as a small town Canadian kid playing road hockey dreaming of this moment and now we're here," said LeNeveu, who is filling for an injured Cam Talbot as the team's backup goalie. "As a team we're playing for what we all dream for and we've got three guys in this room that have gone through this before and they've told us what it's like. We're just trying to enjoy every moment, but at the same time keep our focus and take advantage of this opportunity." He added that he's ready to step into game action if he's called upon, but for that to happen disaster would have to befall Henrik Lundqvist.

With Cameron Talbot (undisclosed) sidelined, David LeNeveu is projected to serve as the Rangers' backup goaltender on Wednesday. That's got to be a thrill for LeNeveu, who is 31 years old and hasn't played in the NHL since 2010-11. Henrik Lundqvist will naturally play between the pipes.

Look for David LeNeveu to serve as the New York Rangers' backup in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. Cameron Talbot has now missed three straight practices due to an undisclosed injury. Leneveu is 31 and just has 22 games worth of NHL experience, so he's not an ideal choice, but something would have to go very wrong for the Rangers to take Henrik Lundqvist out of the net in the first place.

David LeNeveu is on waivers. David LeNeveu signed with the Rangers so that they would have a backup goaltender while Henrik Lundqvist was sick on Tuesday. Now that Lundqvist is feeling better, LeNeveu is expected to clear waivers and be sent to the minors.

The New York Rangers have signed David LeNeveu. LeNeveu will serve as the Rangers' backup goaltender on Tuesday because Henrik Lundqvist is sick. At the age of 30, LeNeveu should be regarded primarily as a minor league goaltender and we wouldn't expect his stint with the Rangers to last long.

The Edmonton Oilers have cut seven players from their main roster including goaltender David LeNeveu. Travis Ewanyk and Drew Czerwonka were sent back to their junior teams in the WHL while Cameron Abney, Mark Arcobello, Hunter Tremblay, and Johan Motin, along with LeNeveu have been sent to the Oilers AHL affiliate in Oklahoma City. None have any fantasy value.

David LeNeveu has agreed to terms with Edmonton's AHL franchise, the Oklahoma City Barons. "Dave is an experienced goaltender who knows what it takes to win and he will provide leadership for our young team on and off the ice," said team GM Bill Scott. "Dave is a quality person and we look forward to having he and his family be a part of the team and community in Oklahoma City." He has compiled a 103-137-23 record with a 2.84 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage in 273 AHL games with Springfield, Utah, San Antonio and Hartford.
