The Minnesota Wild have added Darryl Sydor to their coaching staff.
New head coach Mike Yeo added Sydor who retired after an 18 year NHL career a year ago. "It's the sign of the times," Sydor said of young staffs as Yeo is only 37. "You see this happening around the league. The biggest thing I liked when I played was communication. Being in those players' shoes and relating to them now from the other side, communication is a big thing." The Wild also kept Darby Hendrickson who was on Todd Richards staff. Sydor had 98 goals and 507 points in 1291 NHL games.
