Craig Anderson will face his old Colorado teammates on Thursday for the first time since he was traded to Ottawa last season. He was jettisoned from the Avalanche because of some shaky play in 2010-11, but he rebounded well after joining the Senators. Anderson has gotten off to another rocky start this year, but he hasn't received much defensive support.

Craig Anderson picked up his first win of the season Tuesday night by stopping 24 of 27 shots and backstopping the Senators to a 4-3 shootout victory over Minnesota. The game got off to an unfavorable start after the Wild jumped out to a 2-0 first period advantage, but the Senators slowly chipped their way back into the contest and ultimately earned their netminder a W for his efforts. Ottawa is unlikely to be mistaken for a major power within the NHL this season, but the one thing Anderson has going for him is workload since he'll see quite a bit of action between the pipes.

Craig Anderson will start on Tuesday night when Minnesota visits Ottawa. He got the hook on Saturday against Toronto after two periods of work, but the Senators will stick by their number one goalie. Anderson has gotten off to a rough start in 2011-12 with a .857 save percentage and a 5.40 GAA in two appearances.

Craig Anderson sat out the third period against the Maple Leafs after allowing four goals on 24 shots. Back up Alex Auld didn't fair much better, allowing two goals on 11 shots. The Sens ended up losing the game 6-5. Anderson has allowed nine goals in less than two games, not the kind of goaltending he is capable of. To be fair to Anderson, this Sens team could end up sporting the worst record in the league by seasons end, and there isn't much the veteran netminder can do. Regardless of the teams defensive woes, he should be able to at least keep the team competitive in most games.

Craig Anderson allowed five goals on 39 shots in a season-opening loss to the Red Wings on Friday night. Sadly, Anderson and the Senators could find themselves in a number of similar contests this season as the young roster will likely continue to be prone to defensive lapses. One thing is for certain - Craig Anderson should be a very busy man this year.

Craig Anderson is expected to face plenty of shots this season in Ottawa. The Senators are set to begin the 2011-12 campaign with a very young defense corps, which could be prone to mistakes, and not a great deal of fire power up front. That means Anderson will probably have to stand on his head most nights if the Senators don't want to get blown out of the building. He has done that in the past with Colorado, but believing he can accomplish something like that again might be too much to ask. Anderson is a respectable netminder, who should see plenty of action this season, but his odds of being a strong goalie option aren't great especially if losses are counted in your league.

Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson will not make his scheduled start against the Leafs tonight due to an unspecified injury. If he is ready to go, Anderson will play Ottawa's final pre-season game Thursday in Boston. Prospect Robin Lehner will start tonight against Toronto and is slated to play the whole game with veteran Alex Auld serving as the backup.

Craig Anderson is expected to handle a heavy workload this season as the Ottawa Senators will struggle to make the playoffs. Anderson was outstanding for the Senators coming over in a trade from the Avalanche last February. He is the undisputed number one goaltender in Ottawa, which makes him a low-end number two fantasy goaltender coming into training camp. Remember that the Sens are now one of the weakest teams in the league and should struggle again this season to put wins on the board.

Craig Anderson will be looking for a strong season as the Senators' number one goalie. After coming over to Ottawa, Anderson was simply magnificent. He posted an 11-5-1 record with a 2.05 GAA and .939 save percentage. He has to be his best for Ottawa to have a shot at the playoffs this year. "There's some history with Craig that we have followed his career. We just think he's a real stable guy. He stops the puck pretty well and gives confidence to our team," said GM Bryan Murray. Anderson is a nice sleeper pick if he can remain hot like he did the second half of last season.

The Senators will be looking to sign a free-agent goalie to back up starter Craig Anderson. Curtis McElhinney will not be back and the Sens want Robin Lehner playing every game in Binghamton for another season. Look for Ottawa to ink a marginal netminder in the $750,000 per season range to start 20 games behind Anderson. We will keep you updated.
