Craig Adams participated in his 800th career game on Thursday.
"I forgot," Adams said. "It's good. I think it's something to be proud of. It takes a long time. I guess it shows that I'm pretty old." He scored his 50th career goal in Pittsburgh's 3-0 victory.

The Penguins know that it will be a major test for them to contain Erik Karlsson.
Karlsson has a goal and five assists in five games during the playoffs. "I don't think he changes your game plan," Craig Adams said. "It just makes things more difficult when he's out there. His biggest asset is his skating. He carries the puck up the ice, but you can't always count on him playing at the point. He's just so mobile. He's got that ability to jump into the play and the speed to get back."

Through all the deadline deals the Penguins have made over the past few years, Craig Adams has remained a vital player.
He's a fourth-liner, but a key one at that. It's notable that as general manager Ray Shero has made moves to bolster the team's playoff runs, Adams has stuck in the lineup and been an important penalty killer, too. "I try to finish my checks," Adams said. "I block shots. I try to kill penalties well. I try to win faceoffs. That's something I'm really trying to get better at. I have a little bit of experience ... "

Craig Adams potted two goals in the Penguins' 3-1 win over the Jets on Friday night.
Adams is nothing more than a fourth-liner with no fantasy upside. The goals were his first points of the season. James Neal also had a goal, giving him 11 on the year, good for second in the league.

Craig Adams sees three levels of issues the NHL and the union need to work out before a collective-bargaining agreement is reached.
First, is league revenues. Next, is less important components like drug-testing, travel, scheduling and safety. And finally, contractual issues such as structure of entry-level deals, free agency, arbitration and maximum length of deals. "It's all tied in," the Penguins' NHLPA representative said. If you want to have growth in salaries and have guys be able to have leverage in contract negotiations and flexibility throughout their careers, then you need to have some of those things."
