The Devils placed Schneider (lower body) on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 19 on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider sustained his injury during Thursday's 5-4 overtime win against the Senators, but the Devils have yet to comment on the severity of his ailment. It's possible that the veteran backstop will only miss one contest while recovering from his lower-body issue, as New Jersey plays the Sharks on Friday, but the team's next game isn't until next Friday against the Senators, when Schneider will be eligible to return from IR. For the time being, Keith Kinkaid will take over as the Devils' starter, with the recently recalled Scott Wedgewood serving as his backup.

Schneider (lower body) was replaced by Keith Kinkaid to start the third period of Thursday's game against the Senators.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider's owners will hope the 31-year-old netminder's injury isn't overly serious, as he's already racked up four wins in five appearances this season. The Devils should release an update on their starting netminder's condition prior to Friday's matchup with San Jose.

Schneider will patrol the blue paint for Thursday's clash with Ottawa, Deb Placey of MSG Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider has racked up the wins this season, as he has posted a 4-1-0 record along with a .917 save percentage. The Devils' offense is firing on all cylinders (4.17 goals per game), which provides the netminder with some coverage if he allows a couple of pucks to bend the twine. The 31-year-old could face a lot of rubber Thursday considering the Senators are averaging 33.8 shots per game -- 10th highest in the NHL.

Schneider made 33 saves on 37 shots in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout victory over the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider was also perfect in the shootout, stopping both shots he faced while also benefiting from a missed attempt in a 1-0 victory. The veteran netminder is off to a surprising 4-1-0 start for the surging Devils, who seem to have missed the memo that they're a rebuilding team in a stacked division. Even if his team fails to keep this level of play up all season, Schneider should continue to provide plenty of value considering he finished with a GAA no worse than 2.26 and at save percentage over .920 in six consecutive campaigns prior to last year's debacle.

Schneider will start Tuesday's tilt against Tampa Bay, Andrew Gross of The Bergen Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
While New Jersey's wealth of talented young players has received a lot of credit for the team's hot start, Schneider's contributions mustn't be overlooked. Even though he has a rather high goals-against average of 2.75, he's stopping shots at a rate of .924, which masks some of the Devils' inexperience in their own end. Tampa Bay will be playing their second of back-to-back games Tuesday, so look for New Jersey to try to take advantage of their tired legs.

Schneider took his first loss of the season, stopping 23 of 28 shots in a 5-2 loss to Washington on Friday.
EDGE Analysis
When you give the Capitals' power play multiple chances, you're playing with fire, and the Devils got burned when Schneider couldn't bail them out. It's tough to fault him too much for Friday's defeat, and his solid start gives owners enough reason to write this one off as a product of running into a potent offense.

Schneider will start in goal Friday evening versus the visiting Capitals, NJ.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's been an ideal start to the season for Schneider, as he's won each of his first three starts, including an extremely tough road draw versus the Maple Leafs on Wednesday that saw him set aside 47 of 50 shots. He's faced the Capitals 12 times in his career, posting strong peripherals (2.14 GAA, .923 save percentage), albeit with an ill-fated record of 3-6-2 against them in 12 appearances.

Schneider made 47 saves on 50 shots Wednesday night, leading his team to a 6-3 win in Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Schneider did what he needed to do against an explosive offense that had a lot of chances. He's off to a great start this season that mirrors his team's surprising opening.

Schneider will be between the pipes for Wednesday's clash with Toronto, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Leafs have scored a league-leading 19 goals in three outings this season -- with Schneider the next up to face their powerhouse offense. Unless he can catch Toronto on an off night, the netminder could be in for a long evening, especially when you consider the home team is averaging 38.3 shots per game.

Schneider stopped 23 of 25 shots in Monday's rout of the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
The Devils' offense really supported Schneider and he responded by shutting down everyone in blue and gold not named Evander Kane. His success against Buffalo continued, as he won his third straight against the men from western New York.
