It was his first game against the Bolts since they traded him to the Hawks last June. The goal was classic Perry -- he was parked in front of the net, looking for a tip, and he got it. He pushed the score to 5-2 at just 2:12 of the second. The 38-year-old former star is off to his best start in a long time, with three goals, eight points, 19 shots, one PPG and one GWG in 12 games this season. Perry may provide you with decent short-term fantasy value off the wire.

The Blackhawks have plenty of cap space, so they have no qualms about signing a 38-year-old for such money. Perry will provide the Blackhawks a veteran voice in the room as they navigate their rebuild. He could chip in roughly 20 points and could also see some power-play time.

Perry was in fine form yet again. The Worm was under the Leafs skin throughout and came an assist shy of a Gordie Howe hat trick. Perry fought Justin Holl in the third period after picking up the goal, but faced the ire of fans when it became clear he threw the first punch without dropping his glove. He was serenaded to chants of "Perry Sucks" and a fan was even ejected from the arena for taunting Perry in the box. Perry has a goal in each of the first two games, and four points in that span.

The goal and one assist came on the man advantage, but that power-play production was preceded by Perry's helper on Pierre-Edouard Bellemare's tone-setting tally just 1:18 into the game. The 2011 Rocket Richard Trophy winner no longer dominates on a nightly basis at age 37, but Perry's still capable of delivering vintage performances, and he picked a good time for one in the first game of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The 37-year-old winger doesn't generate offense or log ice time like he used to, but he's been a solid bottom-six player this season. He's at 21 points (12 on the power play), 81 shots on net, 56 PIM, 32 hits and a minus-14 rating through 53 appearances.
