Corey Elkins scored three times including the game winner in overtime to lead Norfolk to a 5-4 win. Peter Holland and ex-Maple Leaf Jay Rosehill completed the scoring for the Admirals who are in their first season as a farm club of the Anaheim Ducks after winning the Calder Cup last season when they were affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was Elkins first three points of the season. The 27-year-old played in Europe last season with Pardubice of the Czech League. He is a depth player at this time, and should see action in the NHL only if there are a few injuries and of course, if they return to action.

The agent for Corey Elkins tweeted that his client has signed to play with the Anaheim Ducks in the 2012-13 season. Elkins played in Europe last season with Pardubice HC in the Czech Republic League where he had six goals and 13 points in 26 games. The 27-year-old center had played most of his career in the Los Angeles Kings organization where he was called up for three games in the 2009-10 season and potted his only NHL goal in a 2-1 loss to the Calgary Flames on December 17, 2009. He is a depth player at best and will likely spend most, if not all of his time in the AHL with Norfolk.
