Ehrhoff (concussion) skated Thursday, and he may rejoin his teammates at practice on Saturday.Ehrhoff seems to be progressing a bit better than expected, as Penguins coach Mike Johnston said Wednesday that he didn't expect the blueliner to travel on the team's roadtrip. Ehrhoff is evidently with his teammates, but he still doesn't figure to play in a game any earlier than next week.

Coach Mike Johnston suggested that Ehrhoff's (concussion) availability for the Penguins' upcoming road trip is in peril. "Until he starts skating, I doubt he'll be on the trip, but I haven't talked to trainers," Johnston said.Ehrhoff has been out since late January with the head injury and doesn't seem to be progressing as quickly as the team had hoped. With no practice time under his belt over the last two weeks, Ehrhoff seems unlikely to notice enough improvement in his condition to join the Pens' on their two-game road swing, which concludes Sunday in Chicago.

Ehrhoff (head) resumed working out Thursday.
Ehrhoff isn't traveling with the Penguins on their current road trip, but is starting to show some signs of progress in his recovery back in Pittsburgh. Coach Mike Johnston is hopeful Ehrhoff will be able to resume practicing with the Penguins when they return to Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The Penguins are hoping Ehrhoff (concussion) can ride the stationary bike in the next couple days.
It doesn't look as if the team is planning on having Ehrhoff's services available Wednesday in Edmonton. Rookie blueliner, Derrick Pouliot, is traveling with Pittsburgh on the three-game road trip, another indication that Ehrhoff figures to miss more time.

Coach Mike Johnston said that while Ehrhoff hasn't been formally diagnosed with a concussion, the defenseman continues to experience symptoms indicative of the head injury, Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
It appears safe to rule Ehrhoff out of Sunday's game against the Predators at this point, but the Penguins haven't closed the door on him joining the team for their Western Canada road trip that kicks off Wednesday in Edmonton. He'll have to take the ice for a practice or two before the Penguins would probably even consider him as an option for the trip.

Ehrhoff is undergoing tests for a concussion back in Pittsburgh and will not be available for Friday's game against the Devils, Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Ehrhoff apparently hit his head on the ice in either Wednesday's loss to the Capitals or during Thursday's practice, which will keep him out for at least one contest. Ehrhoff's test results should be made available Saturday, after which the team will make a determination on his status for Sunday's home date with the Predators. Until Ehrhoff is ready to go, Scott Harrington looks poised to assume his spot in the lineup.

Ehrhoff picked up his 10th assist of the season Tuesday, giving him three points in his last five games.
He compiled 22:41 TOI, second most among Pittsburgh defenders, and will continue to see consistently high minutes with Olli Maatta out for the rest of the year. To the disappointment of fantasy owners, Ehrhoff has scored three goals and 13 points in 37 games. He hasn't seen much time on the team's top power-play unit but features a fantasy-friendly plus-16 rating.

Ehrhoff netted his third goal -- and third game-winner -- of the season Friday night against the Lightning.
He added four PIM, two blocks and finished with a plus-1 rating -- his overall plus-16 rating remains tops on Pittsburgh's squad. With the changing of the new calendar year, Ehrhoff is free to negotiate a multiyear deal with the Pens -- something which would enhance his value in keeper leagues.

Ehrhoff (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, signaling he'll play later in the evening against the Hurricanes.
Ehrhoff has skated with the team for the last two days and appears close to full health after the injury knocked him out for the last five games. While the departure from Buffalo to Pittsburgh hasn't resulted in the surge in points many expected, Ehrhoff has noticed one of the league's biggest swings in plus/minus from a season earlier. After going minus-27 over 79 games with the Sabres in 2013-14, Ehrhoff enters Wednesday's game with a plus-15 mark over 31 contests.

Ehrhoff (lower body) could be activated from injured reserve prior to Wednesday's game against the Hurricanes.
Ehrhoff skated with the team Tuesday for the first time since suffering the injury, and reportedly game out of the session feeling well. It was enough for coach Mike Johnston to deem the blueliner "really close" to a return, with his official status for Wednesday's game likely to be determined after the Penguins' gameday skate. Ehrhoff has missed the previous five games due to injury.
