Chris Kunitz scored two goals but the Pittsburgh Penguins squandered four leads before falling 8-5 to the Philadelphia Flyers in a stunning playoff game that gave the Flyers a 2-0 playoff lead Friday night.
Kunitz was one of five Penguins to collect two points in their loss. The others were Sidney Crosby (a goal and an assist), Pascual Dupuis (two assists), Evgeni Malkin (two assists) and James Neal (two assists). Tyler Kennedy and Paul Martin also potted goals for the Penguins.

Chris Kunitz scored his 19th goal of the season in the Penguins' 2-1 victory over the Coyotes Monday night.
Kunitz is a decent bet to get you about 25 goals and 50-60 points for your fantasy team if he can stay healthy, but could post better numbers playing a full season alongside Sidney Crosby. However, with 45 points in 65 games Kunitz has quietly put together a nice season for his fantasy owners.

Chris Kunitz netted his 10th goal of the season on Friday.
Kunitz also got an assist, giving him 19 points in 32 games this season. Kunitz never blossomed with the Penguins like we hoped, but he is a solid top-six forward when healthy. He's a decent bet to get you about 25 goals and 50-60 points if he can stay healthy, while chipping in about 20 power-play points.

Chris Kunitz has lost his spot on the top power-play unit as a result of Sidney Crosby's return.
The good is Kunitz will play alongside Crosby when teams are at even strength. Although, we wouldn't be surprised if the Penguins shake up their lines a few times over the next few weeks as they try and find a combination that works.

Chris Kunitz has one goal and two assists in Pittsburgh's opening eight games.
His lack of production likely has a lot to do with injuries to Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and not just because they are great players that he typically lines up with. "You want to contribute so bad and help your team, especially with a few guys out of the lineup," assistant coach Tony Granato said. "You take more responsibility on yourself, thinking you have to produce, and that's probably when things don't go as well for you." Kunitz scored his first goal of the year on Tuesday against Minnesota and he'll look to build on that in Thursday's matchup against Montreal.

Chris Kunitz has received a two-year extension from the Pittsburgh Penguins worth $7.45 million.
That will keep his annual salary cap hit at $3.725 million. Kunitz said last week that he would like to retire as a member of the Penguins, so agreeing to a new deal already shouldn't come as a shock. The 32-year-old winger has one assist and eight shots in four games this season, while playing on a line with Tyler Kennedy and Jordan Staal.
