Chris Clark has signed a professional tryout contract with Boston's AHL affiliate in Providence.
He practiced with the team on Wednesday after failing to secure a contract with the big Bruins out of training camp. Clark was released the day before the season opener from his previous tryout with the organization, but could provide additional depth if he gets an NHL deal.

According to someone with knowledge of the situation, Chris Clark will not be offered a contract by the Boston Bruins.
He attended training camp on a professional tryout and will remain an unrestricted free agent unless he can get work elsewhere. Clark has been skating as the team's fourth forward on the fourth line for the past two days, so the writing was on the wall for his departure. It also means that Jordan Caron has been him out for a roster spot with the Bruins.

The Boston Bruins have not sent a contract Chris Clark's way yet.
GM Peter Chiarelli said the team is still making final roster decisions, so there is hope for the veteran winger. Clark attended camp on a professional tryout and suffered a broken nose in a fight with Islanders forward Micheal Haley on Saturday.

Chris Clark may have the inside track on a job with the Bruins this season over Jordan Caron.
Caron, by most accounts, has outperformed Clark for the 13th forward spot. However, he can be sent down to the minors without having to go through waivers and would probably be better served seeing top-six minutes with Providence. If Clark, who is playing on a professional tryout, is signed by Boston then it likely won't be very much either.

Chris Clark is looking to be the veteran voice and presence in the locker room that Boston lost when Mark Recchi retired at end of the 2011 playoffs.
"Being a captain in Washington, I knew I could come in with those leadership qualities off the ice and on the ice," said Clark. "If that was something they were looking for, I thought this would be a good fit." He has skated with Chris Kelly and Jordan Caron during the first days of camp, but nothing is certain for him playing on a tryout. Clark will likely have to beat out players like Caron and Jamie Arniel to land a contract with the Bruins.

Chris Clark has accepted a tryout contract with the Boston Bruins.
Clark had 15 points and 38 penalty minutes in 53 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets last season. He's not expected to have any fantasy value in 2011-12.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have confirmed they will not be re-signing Chris Clark this offseason.
Clark had a very poor season for the Jackets, sitting out and battling injuries. He played in 53 games, finishing with five goals and 10 assists. Retirement is a real possibility at this point.
