Chris Campoli was signed by MON on Friday January 18.

Chris Campoli was one of the NHLPA members who spoke in favor of top guy Donald Fehr on Saturday. Campoli told reporters: "He's our guy, he's our leader and we believe in him. There's not going to be a deal without him." Ryan Kesler also spoke out in favor of the union leader.

Sunday meetings ended on a disturbing note, with NHLPA head Donald Fehr telling ESPN's Katie Strang that he doesn't "see a path to an agreement" at the moment. He also claims that Gary Bettman said the discussions are beyond the point of "give and take." Yet with all that considerable doom and gloom, Fehr still said he expects to meet again soon - he's just not sure when.

Chris Campoli didn't like the way the NHL shooed away the NHLPA's initial proposal this week. "I thought in our proposal we made a step and considerable concessions to them," he stated after working as a member of the sub-committee on Thursday to address the secondary issues not related to the economics. "Frankly, it was a little disappointing to see the response yesterday and the view they have on it." The free agent defenseman also talked about how he didn't like the league's hardball offer to begin the negotiation process.

Chris Campoli was a healthy scratch for the Canadiens on Sunday and there are trade rumors circulating him going into Monday's trade deadline. The defenseman has registered six points and a minus-4 rating in 24 games this campaign, while averaging 15:19 of ice time.

Chris Campoli, who has not played since opening night, will return the Montreal lineup this evening against the visiting Islanders. Campoli tore a hamstring in the season opener against the Maple Leafs and has been shelved since. Signed as an unrestricted free agent one week prior to the start of the season, Campoli played 77 games last season with Ottawa and Chicago, registering 4-17-21.

Chris Campoli appears as though he will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday. He has been practicing for a week and has been granted clearance to return, but coach Jacques Martin is happy with his defense corps right now and he figures Campoli would benefit from some additional practice time. He hasn't played since Montreal's season opener because of a hamstring injury.

Chris Campoli (hamstring) has been given the green light to return to the Canadiens' lineup. Whether or not Campoli actually plays on Saturday is another question. Canadiens coach Jacques Martin won't make a commitment either way and he probably won't decide until just prior to game-time on Saturday.

Chris Campoli returned to action on Tuesday December 6.

Chris Campoli (hamstring) skated with his teammates Monday for the first time since he was cleared for contact. "It's another step in my progress." he said. "The doctors gave the green light for me to play with contact. I had the same color jersey as everyone else today, which was good. I feel great, but the only way I'll ever know is when I'll play. There are some plays during games you can't replicate in practice." There isn't a timetable in place for his return, but it could come as soon as Thursday against Vancouver or Saturday in New Jersey.
