Van Brabant signed a one-year (two-way), $874,000 contract with the Flames on Tuesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Van Brabant spent the majority of the 2014-15 season with AHL Adirondack, registering eight goals and seven assists for a total of 15 points in 52 games with the team. He will likely, once again, spend the majority of the upcoming season in the AHL.

Bryce Van Brabant was the 10th player to make his NHL debut with the Calgary Flames in 2013-14. Van Brabant logged 5:36 minutes in his first NHL game on Tuesday. The Flames tied a franchise record for the most NHL debuts in a single season, which had been established in 1979-80 and previously matched in 1997-98.
