Bruno Gervais has signed on to play with Heilbronner Falken in Germany's second division, according to agent Allan Walsh. Walsh said Tuesday that the Philadelphia defender will head out to join the team. Gervais, along with teammate Max Talbot, had been busy previously with a series of exhibition games throughout Quebec to raise money for charities

The series of exhibition games is a way for players to attempt to stay in game shape, while giving back to the community as well. Hall Gill, Brian Gionta and Carey Price were among the participants. The game drew 5,600, though it could've been more of a success with the capacity of the Colis‚e at 15,000. "We were hoping we'd get more people," Gervais said. "I thought with this city wanting a team, there would be more but I think the fans who were here got a good show." More players are expected to attend as the work stoppage drags on.

Philadelphia has inked Bruno Gervais to a two-year contract worth $825,000 per season. He notched 13 points, 42 hits, 63 blocks and a minus-4 rating in 50 games with Tampa Bay last season. It's likely he'll be a depth defender with the Flyers.

According to a source, Bruno Gervais is close to signing with the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers did have an interest in re-signing unrestricted free agent Matt Carle, but he cashed in on a multi-year deal with Tampa Bay on Wednesday night that will pay him $33 million over a six year term. Gervais would be a much cheaper option.

It was a flip of the coin between him and [Matt] Gilroy, but Gilroy doesn't want to be taken out, so that's good, I guess." Gervais hasn't played since Oct. 13.
