McGinn is averaging a career high in ice time this season but little of it has come in premium situations, and he has seven goals and 11 points through 27 games.

McGinn needed only 16 seconds to open the scoring in the first period, deflecting Mike Matheson's point shot for his third goal of the year. The 27-year-old McGinn has lit the lamp in back-to-back games and will try to make it three straight Saturday against the Wild.

McGinn had a goal and an assist Saturday in a 5-2 victory over Chicago.

McGinn set up Teddy Blueger's goal just 15 seconds into the game, then he gave the Penguins a 3-0 lead just under 11 minutes later with a one-timer on a 2-on-1 rush. A free-agent acquisition in the offseason, McGinn has three points in his first three games as a Penguin after six seasons in Carolina.

McGinn penned a four-year, $11 million contract with Pittsburgh on Wednesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

McGinn figures to slot into a third-line role with the Penguins and will essentially serve as a replacement for Brandon Tanev, who the team lost in the Expansion Draft. With a full 82-game campaign, McGinn could be in line to return to being a 20-30 point producer, especially once Evgeni Malkin (knee) returns to the lineup which would see McGinn paired with Jeff Carter.

McGinn scored a goal on two shots, dished an assist, doled out five hits and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-3 overtime win over the Predators in Game 6.

McGinn opened the scoring in the first period on a feed from Martin Necas. In the third period, McGinn sent a puck back to Jaccob Slavin, who set up Dougie Hamilton for the game-tying goal. The 27-year-old McGinn finished the first-round series with four points, 15 shots on net, 24 hits and a plus-1 rating in six games.

McGinn scored twice on four shots and added three hits Sunday in a 4-3 double-overtime loss to Nashville in Game 4.

McGinn pulled the Hurricanes even at 2-2 with 1:55 left in the second period, hammering a one-timer from along the wall outside the left faceoff circle. Then he put Carolina on top just 13 seconds into the third period, stealing the puck in front and getting it through Juuse Saros while falling to the ice. It was just the second multi-point performance all season for McGinnn, who skated on Carolina's fourth line with Jordan Martinook and Steven Lorentz.

McGinn didn't get involved in the offense much, but he made his presence felt after a 19-game absence. The winger had 13 points in 37 regular-season contests, but he's expected to remain in a bottom-six role during the playoffs.

McGinn has healed up just in time for the postseason, though the bottom-six winger could have some rust to shake off considering his last game action came April 4. He finished the regular season with eight goals and five assists in 37 appearances.

McGinn's return obviously isn't imminent, but it sounds like he should at least be able to get a few games in before postseason play gets underway. Either way, the 27-year-old winger has only picked up eight goals and 13 points in 37 games this season, so most fantasy managers won't need to keep tabs on his availability.
