O'Neill, who was recently acquired by the Devils from the Kings in exchange for a conditional 2017 seventh-round pick, was an offensive force to be reckoned with in the AHL last season, posting an astounding 80 points (22 goals, 58 assists) in 71 games with AHL Manchester. Those totals were good enough to earn him AHL MVP honors for the 2014-15 campaign. He won't come close to that level of production in the NHL, but could still be a difference maker on the offensive end of the ice for the Devils.

O'Neill was almost able to secure a spot on the King's 23-man roster, but ultimately was unable to make the cut. The Kings will only receive a 2017 seventh round pick if the Devils re-sign O'Neill for the 2016-17 season, so they ultimately received very little in return for last year's AHL MVP. O'Neill was fantastic with AHL Manchester in 2014-15, racking up 80 points (22 goals, 58 assists) in 71 games with the team.
