Dumoulin continues to see steady playing time for the Kings but plays mainly in a bottom-four role without enough all-around production to make him intriguing in fantasy.

Dumoulin will be part of a revamped blue line for the Kings after the team also added Cody Ceci and saw Vladislav Gavrikov leave in free agency. The 33-year-old Dumoulin won't offer a ton of offensive upside -- though he did record 22 points in 80 regular-season games with the Devils and Ducks last year. Still, the Maine native is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and gives the Kings a strong shutdown option on the blue line.

He's at the 20-point mark for the third time in his career, with two goals and 18 helpers over 70 appearances this season. The helper was Dumoulin's first point in three games with the Devils since he was acquired from the Ducks. The 33-year-old has seen less ice time in New Jersey thanks to the team's strong depth on defense compared to Anaheim, though that depth is being tested by the absences of Dougie Hamilton (lower body) and Jonas Siegenthaler (lower body). Overall, Dumoulin has 17 points, 58 shots on net, 62 hits, 94 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 64 appearances this season, one point better than his 80-game total with the Kraken in 2023-24.

Dumoulin was traded to New Jersey from Anaheim on Thursday in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick and Herman Traff, Pierre LeBrun of TSN reports.

Dumoulin will be back in the Metropolitan Division after two seasons on the West Coast with the Kraken and Ducks. In 61 games this year, the two-time Stanley Cup champion notched two goals and 14 helpers while adding 91 blocks and 60 hits. With Jonas Siegenthaler (lower body) on LTIR and Dougie Hamilton (lower body) getting hurt against Dallas on Tuesday, the Devils found themselves in need of some help on the blue line. Unless he signs an extension before July 1, Dumoulin will become an unrestricted free agent his offseason.
