Brett Sutter talked to his dad Darryl after Friday's game against the Kings. It was the first time the two were on opposite benches as Darryl is the head coach of the Los Angeles Kings while Sutter is toiling as the Hurricanes fourth line center. After the game Brett told the press that his dad said "it was tough and he couldn't obviously watch me, so he couldn't give me any feedback on the game. He just said, 'Keep going, keep working hard and make it a hard decision for these guys to keep you here.'" Sutter has no fantasy value at this time.

Brett Sutter was called up from the minors on Friday October 4.

The Carolina Hurricanes and Brett Sutter agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract. Sutter will earn $600,000 in the NHL or $150,000 in the AHL, where he spent the majority of last season. The son of Kings coach Darryl Sutter, Brett had 19 goals and 48 points in 70 games for Carolina's AHL affiliate. Sutter also appeared in three games with the Hurricanes but did not register a point.

The Viking Alberta native currently ranks fourth among Charlotte players in scoring with 33 points in 52 games this season.
