Schenn potted his 28th goal to complement a power-play assist Saturday, but the Blues lost to the Avalanche 5-2 at home and were eliminated from playoff contention.

The Blues' first line was in a state of disarray as star winger Vladimir Tarasenko (undisclosed) was injured in the first period, plus Schenn and Jayden Schwartz posted a minus-3 rating despite recording three points apiece. Schenn has reached the 25-goal mark for the third consecutive season and is now up to 59 points in 71 games. It was a beautiful move in overtime from Schenn, who ended a 10-game goalless drought. Look for this tally to help Schenn re-discover his goal-scoring touch, as he should be a key producer during the final playoff push.

While head coach Mike Yeo surely doesn't want to see one of his finest assets in the sin bin, showing a willingness to throw his body around is a sign of a true leader, especially in his first year in St. Louis.

Schenn is near a point-per-game pace, and even when he fails to notch one, his extracurricular efforts can pick up some slack in most formats.
