EDGE Analysis
Point recorded helpers on a pair of Nick Paul power-play goals in the third period before adding a third assist on Nikita Kucherov's empty-netter. After tallying career highs in goals (51) and points (95) last year, the 27-year-old Point seems to be picking up where he left off to start the 2023-24 campaign. He should be a high-end fantasy option again this season while centering Kucherov and Steven Stamkos on Tampa Bay's top line.

The 27-year-old Point was able to return to Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Leafs after crashing into the end boards. He has notched two goals and one assist in three games this postseason.

Point left Saturday's game temporarily after an awkward hit in the third period of Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Toronto in Game 3. He laid on the ice for a few minutes holding his chest, but was able to return to action.
EDGE Analysis
He finished with seven shots and three hits, but no points. The hit was a high-speed impact with the boards after he and Morgan Rielly battled for the puck in the Leafs end. Point got up and took a few strides toward his bench, but fell hard to the ice clutching his chest. There was no update on the specifics of his injury, but the Bolts are hoping Point simply had the wind knocked out of him, rather than broken ribs. He'll be sore on Sunday, though.

Point scored twice in his final appearance of the regular season to top the 50-goal mark, and he added another two goals in the postseason opener. Point is the third player in Bolts history to score at least 50 goals in a season, joining Steven Stamkos (51 in 2009-10; 60 in 2011-12) and Vincent Lecavalier (52 in 2006-07). He finishes the season with 51 goals and 95 points, both career highs, and he heads into the postseason on a four-game, six-point scoring streak (three goals, three assists). Point joins Connor McDavid, David Pastrnak, Mikko Rantanen and Leon Draisaitl as the only NHLers to score at least 50 goals this season.
