McNabb provided the game-winning goal in Saturday's 4-1 triumph over the Sharks. With Robyn Regehr announcing after Saturday's season finale that he would retire, opportunity knocks for McNabb to take on a more sizable role for the Kings in 2015-16.

McNabb's been a modest offensive contributor, so despite his apparent upside, this kind of game is quite out of the blue. But he now has five points in his last six contests, so things are certainly trending up.

McNabb's previous tally had came while he was a member of the Sabres back on Dec. 26, 2011. The third-pairing blueliner offers most of his contributions in the form of hits and PIM, though his total of 17 assists in 55 games illustrates that he's not totally devoid of offensive upside.

McNabb recorded an assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Flames.McNabb has reentered the Kings' lineup the last two games while Alec Martinez (concussion) has been out, notching three helpers. The young blueliner hasn't seen much ice time this season while skating primarily on the third pairing, but he's provided a decent amount of offense in that role.
