Brad Richards is excited to be back in the playoffs after he last appeared in the NHL's second season in 2007-08 with the Dallas Stars.
"Getting to come here and play in New York is great, but this is exactly the reason why you want to go somewhere and get a chance," said Richards, who signed a lucrative nine-year, $60 million deal with the Rangers last summer. "We're in it now; we have a chance, the same chance that everybody else has to win the Stanley Cup. It's just great to have that feeling again, to be back in it." Richards won the Conn Smythe Trophy, as playoff MVP, back in 2004 with Tampa Bay and has recorded 62 points in 63 career postseason contests.

Brad Richards extended his point streak to five games on Thursday.
Richards had two assists, giving him 10 points during his streak. It's probably too late for him to salvage his season from a purely statistical perspective, but that doesn't mean he won't finish the season on a high note. We wouldn't be surprised if Richards records about a point-per-game in the final weeks of the 2011-12 campaign.

Brad Richards scored two goals to lift the Rangers to a 4-2 win over Carolina Tuesday night.
The Rangers' newly-formed line of Richards, Carl Hagelin and Marian Gaborik was dynamite in this game as each member of the trio recorded three points in the victory. Look for the unit to remain together until they cool off.

Brad Richards led all Rangers players with four shots on goal in a 2-0 shutout loss to Pittsburgh.
After scoring in their last contest, Richards was held off the scoresheet in this one and remains a disappointment from a fantasy standpoint. Those who drafted the talented center certainly expected more than 40 points from him at this juncture in the season.

Brad Richards scored 3:37 into overtime to give the New York Rangers a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
With the goal tonight, Richards now has 35 points in 52 games in a pretty disappointing fantasy season for the talented center. Richards signed a nine-year, $60 million contract with the New York Rangers this summer and has been in a little offensive funk in the last month or so.

Coach John Tortorella is confident that Brad Richards will find his game.
Richards has not been happy overall with how his season has gone for him offensively after he was brought in during the off-season to serve as New York's top center. "I'm a little lost offensively, obviously," he said. "A defensive game is the way they want to play here and I'm adapting to that. But I've got to free myself up offensively for sure." He has one goal and two assists in his past 12 contests, but with Tortorella in his corner there should be plenty of opportunities for him to contribute down the stretch. Richards has accounted for 16 goals and 34 points in 51 games in his first year as a Ranger.

Brad Richards didn't participate in Friday's skate because of a stiff neck.
However, he is expected to play Saturday against Boston and has reported no concussion-like symptoms. Richards says that Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke slew-footed him in the second period of Thursday's 4-1 defeat, but the NHL doesn't plan to take action for the play.
