Bishop will start Tuesday's preseason opener against St. Louis, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop's first appearance in a Stars uniform will ironically come against one of his former teams. Tuesday will also mark what the Stars hope to be the end of the goaltending woes they experienced with Antti Niemi and Kari Lehtonen over the past two seasons. The latter Finn remains in Dallas for backup responsibilities, but Bishop will be counted on to be the reliable goaltender he was with the Lightning for the last five seasons.

The Stars bought out goaltender Antti Niemi on Tuesday, leaving Bishop as the starter and just one backup behind him.
EDGE Analysis
Having both Kari Lehtonen and Niemi on the roster wouldn't have affected Bishop's starter status. However, having three goaltenders often creates confusion and problems in unexpected ways. Bishop will sidestep any potential issues that could have arisen. He's the number one netminder in Dallas and Kari Lehtonen will be his backup.

Bishop agreed to a six-year, $29.5 million contract with the Stars on Friday, the Dallas Morning News reports.
EDGE Analysis
After spending his first four seasons adjusting to the NHL with the Blues and Senators, Bishop flourished in three and a half campaigns with the Lightning -- including a 131-64-20 record, 2.28 GAA and .921 save percentage -- before winding up in LA at this year's trade deadline as a rental player. A two-time Vezina Trophy finalist, Bishop shouldn't have much trouble unseating Kari Lehtonen as the No. 1 goalie in Dallas given the length and total value of the deal, and rumors are swirling that alternate goalie Antti Niemi will be bought of the final year of his contract valued at $4.5 million.

Bishop was traded from the Kings to the Stars on Tuesday in exchange for Montreal's fourth-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.
EDGE Analysis
As we saw in the dealing of Scott Darling just a week and a half ago, teams in need of goaltenders are becoming more willing to deal assets in exchange for negotiating rights to some of the top pending free agents, and this time it's Dallas' turn to get in on the fun. Bishop is coming off an odd season of sorts where he posted career worsts in save percentage (.911) and GAA (2.55) with Tampa Bay before being shipped off to Los Angeles near the trade deadline. If the 30-year-old ends up signing with the Stars, it will likely represent a big upgrade at the goalie position for the team, as both Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi both ranked in the bottom quarter of all qualified keepers in save percentage and GAA for the 2016-17 season.

Bishop gave up four goals on 24 shots in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop faced four fewer shots than counterpart Jon Gillies, but surrendered three more goals to hand Gillies a victory in his NHL debut. The free agent to be hasn't helped his stock since coming to Los Angeles at the trade deadline, managing just a 2-3-2 record, 2.49 GAA and .900 save percentage.

Bishop will be in the crease for Thursday's game against Calgary, Elliott Teaford of the Southern California News Group reports.
EDGE Analysis
The backup hasn't played particularly well since coming to the Kings, but he has had flashes of brilliance, including his last time out, in which he stopped 25 of 26 shots against Calgary. With the Flames on the docket again Thursday, Bishop will get a shot at another show-stealing performance.

Bishop saved 25 of 26 shots during Wednesday's win over Calgary.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop has been in a 50-50 timeshare with Jonathan Quick over the past eight games, and the newcomer has posted a 2-1-1 record with a .926 save percentage and 1.82 GAA when called upon. Behind the shot-suppressing Kings, Bishop is a high-end fantasy asset, but without a full-time workload his upside is capped. Continue to roll out Bishop confidently when he receives the starting nod.

Bishop will tend the twine Wednesday against the Flames, Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop has been good for the Kings outside of one outing since being traded, allowing two goals in four of his five appearances. While he's no longer the top netminder for his club, he receives enough looks between the pipes for consideration in deep leagues and remains an option in daily lineups. Wednesday's opponent -- the Flames -- have scored 3.25 goals per game during March, tied for second-best in the league.

Bishop earned his first win as a King stopping 19 of 21 shots Thursday against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
There wasn't much for Bishop to do, who faced just 16 shots on even strength. It's the third straight game Bishop has allowed just two goals, but is still clearly the No. 2 goalie behind Jonathan Quick. He's 1-2-2 in five appearances with the Kings with a respectable 2.48 GAA but underwhelming .900 save percentage. He'll likely make his next appearance on the 28th against the Oilers or on the 29th against the Flames when the Kings plays back-to-back.

Bishop will defend the cage Thursday, squaring off against the Jets at home.
EDGE Analysis
Bishop is winless through his first three starts with the Kings, and he'll now face a Jets team that has been lit aflame with victories over the Islanders, Wild and Flyers, respectively -- netting 11 goals over that span. There are plenty of goalies to choose from on Thursday's mega 12-game slate if Bishop doesn't do it for you in daily settings.
