With Chris Kunitz (lower-body) active Saturday, Bennett won't likely get the chance to play on Sidney Crosby's line. He could still some time on the team's second power-play unit, but his value isn't as high as it could be with Kunitz healthy.

Bennett appears set to return from an injury which has kept him out of the lineup since Dec. 14. Whether he takes shifts with Crosby depends upon Chris Kunitz (undisclosed), who did not skate Friday. Bennett could provide fantasy owners with a short-term jolt, though his history is checkered with disappointment and injuries.

Sullivan said Bennett has some offensive prowess and should help the power play, but he was unwilling to predict who the forward would skate with or when he might return. "I think I have options on him as far as which line I can use him with," the Pens coach noted. "I haven't made that decision yet." Bennett has scored five goals and 10 points in 24 games.

Bennett will likely miss another 1-to-3 weeks with an upper-body injury. "He's making progress, I don't think he's far off but he's not to the point where he's a day-to-day decision," coach Mike Sullivan said.

Bennett was injured during Monday night's game against the Capitals. The 24-year-old is averaging almost 13 minutes of ice time per game and has spent a lot of the season playing on Pittsburgh's top line with Sidney Crosby. Five goals and five assists on the season, the winger was on pace to blow his previous season highs out of the water. The Penguins will want to get Bennett back as soon as possible.

Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan said the team expects Bennett (shoulder) to miss some time, Will Graves of the Associated Press reports.

Bennett left for the locker room after taking a huge hit from T.J. Oshie during Monday's game against the Capitals. It sounds as if Bennett will miss at least the next few games, potentially allowing Patric Hornqvist and/or Daniel Sprong to get some time on the first line with Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz. Hornqvist did the honors Monday night.

Bennett, who tallied an assist and finished with a plus-2 rating against the Kings, skated with Sidney Crosby in the third period Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

The native Californian played well in his home state and will get another chance against Anaheim on Sunday. Coach Mike Johnston noted Bennett's strong play with Crosby, making it entirely possible that the two skate together against the Ducks.

Bennett stretched his pointless streak to four games but dished out a team-high nine hits (along with Chris Kunitz) against Edmonton on Saturday.

EDGE Analysis

After seeing the less playing time (7:15 TOI) than any other Pittsburgh forward Friday, Bennett responded with a hard-hitting performance Saturday. While he was rewarded with more than twice as much playing time (14:51 TOI), fantasy owners are likely looking for better offensive production from the forward. Bennett has scored only six points (3G, 3A) in 18 games.
