Goodrow fought Jakub Lauko early in the first period, then added an empty-netter to seal the Sharks' win late in the third. The goal was Goodrow's first point since Feb. 4 versus the Canadiens, ending a 14-game slump. He hadn't scored since Jan. 20, coincidentally in the Sharks' other game versus the Bruins this season. The 32-year-old forward has five goals, three assists, 65 shots on net, 69 PIM, 131 hits, 51 blocked shots and a minus-33 rating over 65 appearances in a bottom-six role.

Goodrow had a fighting major and two hits in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blackhawks.

Goodrow's point drought reached 12 games, but he had a fight for the second game in a row. He came to the defense of Macklin Celebrini, dropping the mitts with Jason Dickinson after the Chicago forward's cross-checking penalty in the second period. Goodrow is a good teammate and does a lot of the dirty work for a fairly young team. However, his fourth-line role has left him with just eight points and a minus-31 rating to go with 64 PIM, 62 shots on net, 130 hits and 47 blocked shots over 62 appearances this season in his second stint with the Sharks.

Goodrow provided an assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens.

Goodrow figures to continue playing a bottom-six role with limited chances for offense, so he doesn't need to be rostered in most fantasy formats.

Goodrow's newfound scoring touch likely won't last, as he only has four goals and six points in 44 appearances this season.

The 31-year-old forward has just four points over 33 appearances this season -- as expected, his return to the Sharks after spending parts of five campaigns with Tampa Bay and the Rangers has not yielded significant offense for the veteran forward. He's added 37 shots on net, 32 PIM, 58 hits, 26 blocked shots and a minus-19 rating. While he was on the top line officially in Friday's game, he still saw just 13:48 of ice time, in line with his usual bottom-six usage.

Goodrow logged an assist in Saturday's 4-3 loss to Utah.

This was Goodrow's first point in three games since he returned from an upper-body injury that cost him five contests. The 31-year-old forward has mostly played in a middle-six role this season, offering a steady veteran presence for the team's many young forwards. Goodrow has three points, 32 shots on net, 52 hits, 23 PIM, 21 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating over 28 appearances. Saturday marked his 600th career game.

Goodrow (upper body) was activated off of injured reserve Tuesday, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News.

Will Smith was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding transaction. Goodrow has missed the past five games after sustaining an injury Nov. 27 against the Senators. The left-shot winger will most likely slot in on the fourth line, and he'll fill a role on the penalty kill. Goodrow will hopefully benefit from some time off, as he's produced just two goals through 25 games this season.

Goodrow suffered the injury Wednesday against Ottawa in the first period and did not return. He certainly has not been an offensive force as he has two goals in 25 games, including only one in his last 24 contests. The Sharks recalled Ethan Cardwell from AHL San Jose to replace Goodrow on the roster.

Goodrow sustained an upper-body injury and won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Senators.

EDGE Analysis

Goodrow was hurt early in the first period. The 31-year-old has been filling a middle-six role recently, but has has just two goals and a minus-10 rating over 25 appearances this season. If he can't play Friday versus the Kraken, Goodrow will likely be replaced by Givani Smith in the lineup.
