Shaw has an upper-body injury and will miss Thursday's game against the Flames, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. Shaw's absence comes as a surprise after he was able to practice a day earlier, seemingly reporting no injury complications. Coach Joel Quenneville wasn't able to shed much light on the exact nature of Shaw's injury or when it was sustained, but did say that it was "not serious." He should be labeled as questionable in advance of the Blackhawks' next game Saturday night in Edmonton.

Shaw picked up an assist in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Canadiens. After starting the season with four points in the first six games, Shaw failed to register a point in the next six. He was on the ice for 19:14 on Tuesday, including 5:06 with the man advantage that led to his assist. He set a personal best last year with 39 points, and he could approach the 40 point mark once again this season.

Shaw scored his team's lone goal in Wednesday's OT loss to the Flames. The Hawks pelted Flames netminder Jonas Hiller with 50 shots on the night, but Shaw was the only player able to put one past him with a redirect on the power play midway through the third period.

Shaw opened the scoring and added an assist in Saturday's win over Buffalo. A great effort from Shaw, who is currently centering the second line between Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad. If Shaw continues to play on that line and on the top power-play unit, he could surpass the career-high 20 goals and 39 points he recorded in 2013-14.

Shaw will begin the season as the Blackhawks' second line center, CSN Chicago reports. The Hawks picked up Brad Richards in the offseason specifically to center the second line, but Shaw's play with that unit is forcing the team to reconsider. The trio of Shaw, Patrick Kane, and Brandon Saad were virtually unstoppable in last year's playoffs, and seem to have picked up right where they left off this preseason. The move also gives Chicago a potent third line of Richards, Bryan Bickell, and Kris Versteeg, so opposing teams will have to gameplan for three scoring lines. If Shaw starts to struggle, the team won't hesitate to move Richards up, but for now, Shaw has an opportunity to increase his production from a year ago.

Andrew Shaw will spend some of the summer rehabbing a right knee injury. Shaw was sidelined for about three weeks due to the injury before he returned on May 24. "Obviously it was painful but at a time like that, you feel like the team needs you and you want to be a part of it," Shaw said. "So you push through it." He's expected to be fine for the start of training camp.

Andrew Shaw is apparently "fine" after his right leg appeared to buckle late in the third period of Game 5. "Tough guy," coach Joel Quenneville said. "Came back and was real good for us all game." He was back in for overtime and will be ready to play in Game 6 on Friday night. Shaw skated between Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad for most of Wednesday's contest.

Andrew Shaw skated between Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad for the majority of Game 5. The trio played a significant role in getting Chicago back into their series with the Los Angeles Kings. Shaw earned two assists in Wednesday's 5-4 double overtime win, while Kane collected four helpers and Saad posted a goal and three points. "They were excellent, outstanding," coach Joel Quenneville said. "They brought speed of the rush; play recognition, finish, support. I thought they all had huge games. That might have been a discovery."

Andrew Shaw is slated to play between Brandon Saad and Kris Versteeg when he returns to the lineup on Saturday night. His return appears as though it will bump Peter Regin into the press box. "We're happy to have Shaw back," coach Joel Quenneville said. "He's been there mostly all year, so that's where it's at." Shaw feels he could've played three games ago, but the Blackhawks were patient with his recovery and the extra time off could be beneficial.

Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith is expecting his team to get a boost from the return of Andrew Shaw. Shaw is projected to center the third line in Game 3 after missing roughly three weeks. "We've missed his presence in the lineup," Keith said. "He's a good guy to have on the team, be it on the ice providing that energy or in the locker room. We look forward to having him back. He's a versatile player when it comes to what he provides on the ice, be it in front of the net, going to the hard areas or playing different positions. He's a big part of our team." Shaw had two goals and four points in seven playoff games before he was hurt.
