Miller will play for Fribourg-Gotteron of the NLA next season, Patrick Williams of NHL.com reports.

Miller agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Tuesday.

The winger last appeared in an NHL contest with Edmonton in 2015-16 in which he logged six contests but failed to register a point. The 28-year-old will likely be given a shot to crack the 23-man roster during training camp, but until he can secure a regular role with the Canes, fantasy owners may want to hold off on picking him up.

Miller boasts some offensive upside, as the 27-year-old winger tallied an impressive 60 points (27 goals, 33 assists) in 63 games with AHL Oklahoma City last season.

Head coach Todd McLellan told reporters Thursday that they wanted to add a heavier, more physical presence to the 23-man roster, hence the demotion of the petite Miller and the promotion of the bigger bodied Pakarinen. Miller only suited up for one game during his short stay with the big club, logging a mere 8:28 of ice time in the contest.
