MacDonald (upper body) is slated to return Wednesday versus the Penguins, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 31-year-old is spending a career-high 63.7 percent of his 5-on-5 shifts in the defensive zone this season, which is not an ideal fantasy setup. Simply put, we cannot see many fantasy owners deploying MacDonald, who has only 13 points in 50 games with his overall playing time fleeting.

MacDonald (upper body) is day-to-day and won't play Sunday against the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
MacDonald has struggled on the Flyers' blue line lately, producing just one goal and a minus-6 rating over the last eight. He was log 18:50 of ice time Saturday against the Lightning, so it's unclear exactly when this injury was incurred. He'll eye a return Wednesday against the Penguins, but his absence will allow Johnny Oduya to make his Flyers debut Sunday.

MacDonald blocked two shots through just 16:54 of ice time during Thursday's 4-1 loss to Carolina.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran entered Thursday's contest averaging 20:02 of ice time per game, so it was a little surprising to see his minutes drop significantly. However, the Flyers were trailing most of the night, and MacDonald's far from an offensive force. Fantasy owners can continue to ignore him in most settings.

MacDonald scored his second goal of the season and blocked four shots through 21:31 of ice time during Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win against Detroit.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran defenseman has been on an impressive offensive run of late with a goal and six assists through his past eight games. However, fantasy owners will definitely want to temper expectations because his recent outburst has him up to just 10 points -- two tallies -- for the campaign. It's also worth noting that MacDonald isn't receiving consistent power-play time and has just 47 shots through 33 games. Taking a flier on his scoring streak having legs is probably only worthwhile in deep formats that also include blocked shots, as he remains a strong contributor in that category with 72 for the year.

MacDonald failed to mark the scoresheet for the 11th consecutive game during Friday's 5-3 win over Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
MacDonald's locked into a defense-first role with 69.5 percent of his five-on-five shifts beginning in the defensive zone and an average of 2:22 of shorthanded ice time per game. As a result, the veteran defenseman has collected just a single goal and two assists through 23 games this season. There aren't many fantasy settings where he's a viable option.

MacDonald (leg) will return to action Monday against the Penguins.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran defenseman has missed Philly's last 15 games this this leg injury. MacDonald has played about 20 minutes a night for the bulk of his career, so once he's fully up to speed that should be his role once again.

MacDonald (leg) won't be in the lineup for Friday's clash with the Islanders.
EDGE Analysis
MacDonald resumed skating earlier this week, but his return to game action isn't imminent. The next step in his recovery will be a return to practice with his teammates, so the Flyers should release another update on his status when that occurs.

MacDonald (leg) won't play Tuesday and is unlikely to play Wednesday, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
That would mean Friday against the Islanders would be the earliest McDonald would return. He's already missed 12 games with this injury, so it's not surprising to see the Flyers being cautious with him.

MacDonald (leg) skated Wednesday and is said to be making progress, though his return isn't imminent, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Back in MacDonald's heyday, he'd be good for a point total in the mid-20s and would also see power-play ice time, but between injuries like these and having to appease fantasy owners only at even strength and the penalty kill, the 31-year-old's fantasy prospects have been fleeting. Expect him to sit out Thursday against the Jets.

MacDonald will skate Wednesday for the first time since sustaining his leg injury and is targeting a return for Nov. 21 against Vancouver, Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacDonald has already missed nine games as a result of this ailment and, if the reports are to be believed, is in line to miss at least three more. The stay-at-home blueliner had just one goal on the season prior to getting hurt, but his defensive contributions upon his return could be of immense benefit to his real life team, as well as virtual ones that favor defensive stats.
