DAILY PRIME TODAY : DAM-KOS! A REMEMBRANCE DAY TO FORGET primepucks.com Tue 11/12/13 8:25 AM
As everyone knows by now, Tampa Bay Lightning Center Steven Stamkos broke his leg in a crash into the goalpost that apparently didn't budge like it was supposed to. With the Bolts sitting atop the Eastern Conference, the Lightning will have to find ways to make up for the lost production. Stamkos is believed done for the season, with initial reports stating that he would miss anywhere from 6-12 weeks. Losing a player of this magnitude is damaging to everyone; the NHL team, the Canadian Olympic Team and the fantasy owner. There will be a few call-ups for tonight's match against the Montreal Canadiens with D-men Sami Salo and Keith Aulie also getting injured in yesterday's afternoon tilt against Boston. Expect wither Tyler Johnson or Alex Killorn to grab a little more ice time, but monitor the next few games to see where the trend lies.....What has probably gone unnoticed was the fine play of both goaltenders, especially Tampa backup Anders Lindback who turned aside 23 of 25 SOG but came away with the loss. Don't expect Lindback to start grabbing starts away from starter Ben Bishop, but the coaching staff will have confidence to go with the backup to spell Bishop from time-to-time....Tuukka Rask continued his dominance over the Bolts this year with his third victory against them by a combined score of 11-1 and shutting them out twice in the process.....I'll be watching the transaction wire to see who the Tampa Bay Lightning call up. Could one of those players be named Jonathan Drouin? Drouin has gone 9-20-29 in 14 games for the Halifax Mooseheads of the QMJHL.
Goalie Start: Lindback leads the Lightning onto the ice; he starts. dailyfaceoff.com Mon 11/11/13 2:56 PM
Lindback allowed three goals on 32 shots in a win over the Panthers on October 27. The Lightning were expected to have a balance of Lindback and Ben Bishop this season, but Bishop has clearly taken over the number-1 job as he continues to take the NHL by storm. Linback has a tough matchup today vs. a great Bruins team.
THE GOALIE EDGE: 11/11/2013 primepucks.com Mon 11/11/13 10:30 AM
ALL GOALIES CONFIRMED UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED AT TIME OF PRINT
There is just one game on this Veteran's/Remembrance Day in North America. Tampa Bay travels to Boston to take on Tuukka Rask (LIKELY) and the Bruins in a matinee affair. Ben Bishop (LIKELY) has been stellar in net for the Lightning so far this season and with 11 wins, has the Bolts atop the Eastern Conference. T-Rask has been superb as well with a 1.63 GAA and .944 SP, he just hasn't had the support that his opponent has had, but the Bruins seem to be playing much tighter. Bishop has 2 losses on the season, both to Boston, and today could be his third. Bishop and the Lightning have lost both games by a combined score of 8-1. Two Eastern powerhouse pitted against each should make for a spirited contest. Rask rules in a close one as Boston seems to have the Lightning's number.
FANTASY MUST-STARTS
Tuukka Rask, Boston vs. Tampa Bay
SLEEPER ALERT

Lindback has been limited to three appearances with the strong start that Ben Bishop has had. Just as important is the rough time Lindback has had. He has allowed nine goals in two starts and one relief effort. His GAA sits at 3.80 while his SV% is an ugly .839. The matchup with the Panthers is good, making him a decent last ditch effort at goalie stats on Sunday. The early confirmation will help you jump on his today.
ROMIE HITS THE POST: BISHOP TAKES KNIGHT: CHECK primepucks.com Thu 10/17/13 3:19 PM
At the beginning of this season, many people probably believed that Anders Lindback would be the starting goaltender for Tampa Bay. General Manager Steve Yzerman acquired Lindback from Nashville during the lockout, because he was tired of watching goalies like Dwayne Roloson and Mathieu Garon struggle in net. Lindback had been the backup to Pekka Rinne for two years with the Predators. His numbers were okay, but hardly outstanding. Last season he shared time with Garon, starting in 24 games and going 10-10-1 with a 2.90 goals against average and a .902 save percentage. Nothing to get excited about. So at the trade deadline, Yzerman brought in Ben Bishop from Ottawa. Here was another case of a backup, Bishop, having decent numbers spelling Craig Anderson for the Senators. Bishop posted a .922 save percentage in 13 games in 2012-2013 while in Ottawa. Bishop played in nine games last season for the Lightning, and his numbers were decent at 3-4-1 a 2.99 save percentage and a .917 save percentage. But Lindback actually started the opening game of this season, a loss to Boston.
Bishop is very big, he is the tallest goaltender in the NHL at 6'7" and he weighs 215 pounds. They say you can't teach size, and at that size he covers a lot of the net. He is also very agile and positions himself well. After the opening day loss, Bishop has played in 4 of the next 5 games, and his record stands at 4-0 with an amazing 1.71 goals against average and .939 save percentage. If he keeps this up, he will become a top goaltender in the league. Tampa is now 4-2 on the year, and each game that they lost, Lindback was in goal. Most poolies probably think of Tampa as a mediocre team, based on how much they have struggled the past few years, especially in net. But the numbers tell a different story this year. They are 4-2 and are tied for third in the league with Pittsburgh in goals scoring, and are 6th in the league in goals allowed. Yzerman is slowly changing this team around. A big part of this is the play of Bishop in goal. He is now definitely the starter on an improving team. Get him into your lineup and keep him there. He should have a solid year.
Stick saves:
Marc-Andre Fleury has put his playoff woes behind him, and he has come out of the gate this season looking strong. He is 5-0 with a 1.80 goals against average and a .926 save percentage. He even has a shutout, which is somewhat rare for him. His is looking very confident in net, and with all the...

DAILY PRIME OCTOBER 11, 2013: BERNIER SHINING BRIGHT primepucks.com Fri 10/11/13 5:56 AM
On a night where three goaltenders stole the spotlight with spectacular shutout efforts, Toronto's Jonathan Bernier 36-save blanking of Nashville was the most relevant to fantasy owners. Despite the thorough stonewashing of the Stanley Cup runnerup Boston Bruins, veteran J.S. Giguere (39 svs) will continue to back up Semyon Varlamov in Colorado, while Jonas Hiller of Anaheim (34 svs) has probably seen better days. The future belongs to 25-year old Jonathan Bernier, who after being traded to Toronto during the offseason, has finally eluded the shadows of Jonathan Quick back in Los Angeles. Granted, there is still a semblance of a goaltending competition going on in "Leaf Land", but the young French Canadien native is making it extremely difficult for the Leafs not to hand him the starting job. After four games, he has posted a 3-1 record with a .84 GAA and a .974 SP. If you closely examine his numbers backing up Quick the last three years, the signs of eventual greatness were ever so clear. During that span, his record stood at 25-17-6, while his GAA dipped from 2.48 to 1.82. From a pure fantasy standpoint, Bernier is close to joining the elite ranks, but he will need to supplant James Reimer first as Toronto's no. 1. The goalie-by-committee approach might last a while longer in Toronto, but Bernier will quickly become fantasy gold in all league formats.
Stamkos Delivers The Goods: In the 7-2 Lightning blowout of the Florida Panthers, superstar Steven Stamkos has his first breakout game of the NHL season, scoring a hat trick and adding an assist. With three goals and six points in 4 games, the league's most fearsome sniper is again the odds-on favorite to lead the NHL in goals... Tampa Bay's captain Martin St. Louis continues to defy Father Time with a goal and an assist, raising his point total to five points in four games. The reigning Art Ross Trophy winner shoud again be good for another 80+ point season.. Ben Bishop wins his third straight in goal, allowing only two goals on 21 shots. He is starting to leave Anders Lindback in the dust, while the Lightning starting job is still officially up for grabs. We have Bishop as our 15th ranked fantasy goalie, so we have already made up our mind.
Other Fantasy Notes: Winnipeg's Tobias Enstrom is quietly off to a great start, collecting an assist last night and extending his point streak to four games. Not known for shooting the puck, the diminutive Swede continues to rack up assists at a high rate. As ...

DAILY PRIME OCTOBER 9, 2013: HUGE NIGHT FOR SHARK'S ROOKIE primepucks.com Wed 10/9/13 4:54 AM
The big story surrounding the San Jose Shark's early surge has been the stellar play of Czech rookie Tomas Hertl, who has "fit like a glove" on the first line with Joe Thornton and Brent Burns. Well, he outdid himself last night after scoring his first NHL "hat trick", plus another highlight-reel goal for good measure in the Sharks 9-2 drubbing of the New York Rangers. The 19-year old now leads the entire league with 6 goals and 7 points, while sitting second with a +5 rating. It's obviously way too early to hand him over the Calder Trophy, but his early performance should not be discounted, either. This is the type of young player with "Jaromir Jagr"-like potential, that can really motivate a veteran like Thornton to keep pushing him to new heights. He is worth an immediate waiver-wire grab in all leagues, but could end up being fantasy gold in keeper formats.
Other Fantasy Notes: Roberto Luongo wins the showdown against former goalie mate Cory Schneider, stopping 21 of 23 shots in Vancouver's 3-2 OT win over New Jersey. The real fantasy star of the night was defenseman Jason Garrison, who scored the overtime goal, his third of the season, and extended his point streak to four games. He is looking very legit in the early going, but it's probably too late to pick him up.... No James Neal? No problem for the Penguins, as Jussi Jokinen scored his first career "hat trick", including two on the power-play. Even though he will lose PP time when Neal returns, it's worth noting that he has collected 14 points in 13 games since being traded to Pittsburgh. If he stays on the 2nd line, 60 pts. is a definite possibility.... Need a d-man? You were warned by us that Jamie McBain can have a fantasy impact on his new team, the Buffalo Sabres. The 25-year old scored a goal and an assist, both on the powerplay, and logged 4:24 minutes on the top PP unit. Tyler Myers has "gone south" in a hurry, so keep McBain on your radar.... John Tavares scored his first two goals and now has four points in three games, but what about that second line on Long Island? Michael Grabner, Frans Nielson, and Josh Bailey combined for 9 points in the 6-1 romp over Phoenix. I like Grabner the best out of the lot for fantasy purposes. He has 35+ goal potential.. Speaking of Phoenix, Mike Ribeiro has yet to register a single point through three games. We saw that coming. Hopefully, you read our '13-14 Fantasy Guide and did not overrate him based on his gaudy numbers with Washington last season.....
